Need Advice on Ring Sizing

I have a ring that is 3 sizes too big. So far we have taken it to one jeweller and he said that it can not be sized down... what can i do? any advice? options?

When I needed to size my ring they told me sizing 1 to 1 1/2 size is fine but when you do more it can hurt the integrity of the setting depending on the type of setting. Sounds about right to me; can you exchange for a smaller size?

What did they say was safe to size down? Maybe you can go down a bit and then use sizing balls or something to make it fit your finger, just a thought.
