Hello PSers,
Can I get your advice on the following? They are both AGS0, ideal cut.

First stone:
1.0 carat, F, VS2
depth: 61.1
table: 56.9
crown angle: 35.9
pavilion angle: 40.4
girdle (faceted): 1.1 to 3.5%
Holloway Cut Advisor: 0.8 FIC
$7900

Second stone:
1.06 carat, G, VS2
depth: 60.6
table: 58.3
crown angle: 33.7
pavilion angle: 41.1
girdle (faceted): 1.1 to 4.0%
HCA: 2.1
$7844

I haven''t asked for pictures or diagrams yet because I am not sure how I feel about them yet. The first stone sounds enticing with its HCA score of 0.8 and F color. But, um, can someone talk to me more about AGS0? Are these good prices? Should I keep looking?

You can use this tool for price comparison http://www.pricescope.com/diamond-prices.aspx

If you like the vendor, and they''re local...either could be a ready possibility.

I''m interested especially in the first one...but I''d expect you''d like both.

Pricing is attactive if the store is local. If internet..you could do a little better (Pricescope pricing discounts the listed price a few hundred dollars), but not tons. There''s several similar out there...some a little less maybe, some more.

They both sound lovely but I''d prefer the F.

I appreciate the feedback! Skippy123 and Regular Guy, thank you for the links. They were helpful and offered good comparisons. Marcyc, the F does sound nice, doesn''t it? I might have to ask for more information

Yes, it does sound nice. Let us know what they say.

Oooh, lovely! :)

I have an F VS2 AGS0 myself... and I luuuurrrve it!

Both stones will be gorgeous, but I would probably go for the first one, as it has the advantages of both a smaller table and a higher colour.

If it''s of any use, we bought mine (1.001ct) from DiamondsonWeb.com for $7266.

I assume you''ve rounded up the carat weights, as AGSL reports the carat weight to three decimal places?

Do let us know what you decide on!

Cleo,
Thank you for the information. I will check out diamondsonweb.com as well for price comparison.

On a different note, BF and I are still trying to wrap our mind around the cost of the stone. The most expensive thing I ever bought is a laptop (and it was on sale), so $7900 is a whole different league for me.

I have some more information on the F stone. It is 1.005 carats. I have pictures, but am having trouble uploading them.

You could just copy & paste the link for the webpage if that''s easier...

Okay, I think I was able to get the picture under the size limit....let''s see if this works. Thoughts??

That looks absolutely beautiful!

The diamond has really lovely patterning, for a non-branded stone... gorgeous. :)

*Edited to add* as lovely as the diamond looks in those photos, it is NOTHING to what you'll think when you see it in real life... you will be stunned!

Looks gorgeous and a FIC to boot!!!!!
