I never posted my engagement ring here on ''Show me the Ring'' so here goes : )

It''s natural, un-treated, Ceylon sapphires, 2.85 total carat weight, size 5, from Mr. Steven Bliss @ The Natural Sapphire Company in New York.

The company was a pleasure to work with -- accomodating, friendly, knowlegable, efficient, and TONS of gorgeous jewelery! I''d definetly reccommend it to anyone interested in sapphires : )

Wow, I really like that. Even though it isn't polite, I'm so curious what that weight in sapphires of that quality set you back--I'd love to do something (more masculine) like that for my own wedding ring.

I''m not sure what I plan to do for a wedding ring (since I seem to have one now)... I haven''t fallen in love with any more traditional e-rings so far... my fiance and I are working on it.

at this point I think he wants me to want a normal ring -- he loves this one, but people''s constant questions like ''did you elope'' or ''waiting to spend the big money, huh'' are irritating... but alas, people will be silly regardless of what i do!

i don''t care if you ask about the price - it was $2000 for the natural sapphires ... hope this helps. it''s pretty substantial on me, but it looks pretty tiny on my husband''s pinky (he can''t even get it very far) so you''d probably want to ramp up the size... it''s a full eternity -- not sure how much it would have been if it was a 3/4 eternity or 1/2.

it''s in platinum, so maybe explore white gold if you''re trying to keep costs down??
