My wedding day :o)

I am back in the US and our “second” wedding went without a hitch!
It was a beautiful, hot, sunny afternoon in Mexico. We had the best 2 weeks, half of which was spent with family and friends, the second half alone. It was a dream come true, and so romantic!

Bruce and I separated in the morning. I went to get my hair and makeup done, and B stayed in the room getting ready until I came back with my MOH and my 5 year old FG and kicked him out. Off to the Best Man’s room he went…..

We had a few hours to kill, so MOH and I had some champagne, talked about life, ordered room service, then slipped the dress on about 30 minutes before the ceremony. It was nice “girl time”. My (now) 15 year old stepdaughter and BM came to the room an hour before, and just about all of the other female guests ended up stopping by to say hi and take pictures! It was so much fun!

The flowers were dropped off, and then it was time to wait!

Unbeknownst to me, the minister was late. At 3:40, 10 minutes late, the wedding coordinator picked up myself, my MOH, BR, FG and RB at the room…..now the nerves and the excitement started kicking in…….We started the long work through the lobby and down the hall. Suddenly I feel like my dress is slipping off of me and I have to fix my shoes. I was like “slow down, wait for me!!” OMG it was all hitting me! Everyone in the resort was looking at us and smiling, offering congratulations. I am fidgeting and somewhat panicking……

I turned the corner, and suddenly I hear VERY LOUDLY the music playing just outside at the gazebo. I turned to my MOH and said “OMG is that for my wedding?!?!?!” We looked at each other and we just both lost it right then and there, I mean full blown crying. Both of us. This was our special moment. Them my FG turns around (the MOH is her mother) with an extremely concerned look on her face asking us what’s the matter! We explained these were tears of happiness and everything was OK, sometimes people cry when they are happy. It was so cute and one of my best memories of the day.

Around the corner I go, we’re there, and its time for us to start the march. Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy starts to play. The kids go, the BM and my MOH, then it’s my turn. Suddenly I am very aware of being in the spotlight (which I typically LOVE).

I start my walk, I see B looking so handsome and everyone looking at me and smiling. I had such a HUGE smile on my face I look ridiculous in the pictures. I walked halfway down the isle, stopped, and B met me halfway and escorted me to the altar. We turned and faced our guests with the ocean as our backdrop.

Our ceremony was quick, which I was really happy about. I just wanted it to be over because it was really emotional and it was hard having everyone see that! Favorite memory #2 – my FG again – Allison – I look over at her halfway through the wedding and she are sobbing! I have to post a picture. It was just so cute. The wedding party (including the guys) was crying, all of my guests were crying, I was crying….it really was very moving.

After the ceremony we had our pictures done, while our guests went to the cocktail hour which we missed most of, but we did have our first dance and we mingled a bit. We all went to the tiki bar for an hour, until our reception. The reception was until 8PM, no complaints, good food, a few speeches from our friends, it was perfect. Yummy cake too.

After the reception dinner, we changed then regrouped for our night out at the Blue Parrot, for a fire show on the beach and dancing. This was the best part of the night and we partied and got some great pictures.

I am SO happy we did a destination wedding. It's what I always wanted, and I am so happy we were able to spend this time with our family and friends. We are very lucky.

I have quite a few pictures which I’ll try to resize and get posted ASAP.

I am also happy to say that I feel 100% different as a married woman. It’s not just a piece of paper.....
