My Visit to the Toy Box (Antiques at H Moradi in La Jolla)

Hi PS'ers!

I'm back from my weekender trip to San Diego with my SO, and of course, I had to stop by the infamous H Moradi I must say, it was one of my highlights of my trip! Serena was absolutely sweet and accommodating, and she let me try on and play with a couple of their pieces! She even walked me across to their other store to see the 3.20 ct OEC that I had been lusting after. Yum! She was so sweet, and you can tell that she just LOVES to share her love of antique jewelry. I am so amazed at how educated the staff at individual jewelry stores are, in comparison to the staff at those chain jewelry stores! I was absolutely a kid in a candy store! She even told my poor BF that got dragged there, and waited patiently for me, that I got such a glow from the excitement. It was true! The first thing I did was tie up my hair so I can focus on the jewelry!

Anyway, I know I've got to share my photos! Sorry, these were all taken on my iPhone 4, and aren't the best quality pics. Forgive my non-manicured fingernails.

beautiful diamond ring with a half carat OEC center stone, and a yummy tanzanite ring.
I actually fell in love with that teeny tiny antique ring box, and asked if they sold them….. they don't

The belt buckle ring made me chuckle a bit.. I've definitely seen a lot of belt buckle styles in Fendi's lines in the last few years
And another hugeeee honkin' tanzanite ring and a pair of hugeeee honkin' antique turquoise earrings!! I really wish I could take that pair of earrings home with me! Heck, even half of the pair for a lovely honkin' ring!

This one had the most perfect checkerboard-y facets! I tried my best to catch the faceting with my iPhone

Wow! Beautiful sparklies! I have always wanted to go there! I don't live too far away either. I feel a trip coming! I love the pear with the filagree setting! Gorgeous!

and, of course, the real reason I wanted to pay H Moradi a visit! The 3.20 ct OEC!
and, for fun, Serena brought out the 5.65 M MRB. It's the first low colored MRB I've ever seen. Yeah, so it's not that I am more tolerant of tints in old cuts… I'm just tolerant of tints in all cuts I'm def a size ho!

it was! loads! I always love visiting jewelry stores, but it's not often that they allow you to play with all their goodies, or take pictures. T&Co always acts like I'm a total criminal!

I love the pears, too! I see people post YT links all the time, and I thought that they're only taken down if it's linked to you personally, like through your email address username or something? I know GMail and YT use the same username sometimes, and I thought it was due to that? I mean, people link to YT videos here all the time… so I'm kind of unclear on which parts are against policy or whatnot. Shrug. If it gets taken down by admin, I won't mind

LOL! I blame it on my bad memory (I thought it was 24k) and my bad translation. In Chinese, there's a character for 10,000. In my mind, I was thinking it's 2.4 of that character. I translated wrong

No Sorry, I wasn't really asking for prices since SO would kill me if I even considered buying more bling right now. I didn't even get a chance to play with that particular pear. The photo was taken from their window I wish I could have played with it, too!
