#JOTW My very first OEC baby!

I never thought I’d find one in person. My husband and I are out of town for the weekend. He, being the supportive husband he is, indulged me and let me go to a store that specializes in OEC and Art Deco style rings. They had cases and cases of them! I came across one that just spoke to me. And now she’s mine. The store is family owned and the father gave me a nice deal. He even threw in a second ring for free. So without further ado, meet Lucy.

They deal mainly online, but he said that they have access to a lot of items because of the population in South Florida. I looked at a lot of items and (to me) it seemed like really nice quality. Good folks!

Here’s the other ring. It’s fashioned out of an antique diamond watch band! It’s flexible (not stretchy) and different.

It is 1.15ct H SI-1. I could see some tiny inclusions with the loupe, but she appears pretty darn eye-clean to me. She’s also very playful in the light. Rainbows and all.

I tried this one on and holy smokes, she was AHHHHH-mazing!!! Very substantial and drool worthy. But unfortunately, too impractical as I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify the cost.

Yes, Ricky (see what I did there, LOL!) deserves some love too. He’s very unique (to me) as I haven’t seen anything like him before.

Lucy is incredible!!! Great find! I love the sparkly diamonds and the setting is honestly something special- totally gorgeous. And love the band, too! Bonus!!!

My 1.83ct I-VS1 ACA in a classic 6-prong 14k WG solitaire setting arrived yesterday. I had ordered it last week, before I met Lucy.

My ACA is still sitting in the box, while Lucy is on my finger. As beautiful as that ACA is (and it exceeded my expectations), my heart just feels so connected to Lucy. She has so much personality and uniqueness to her. I can’t put her on my right hand. I just can’t. She NEEDS to be on my left. It is what feels right. Even my husband (who truly admired both rings and would be happy no matter my choice) said Lucy is much more “me”.

So my ACA will be going back to WF and Lucy will be getting sized down from a 6 to a 5-1/4 to be my wedding ring.

Oh my, yes! Be very afraid of the OEC addition! Once it grabs you, it rarely lets go! Congratulations on finding a ring that speaks to your heart! Her light show is fiery and bold, just like her namesake. Have you looked at her in low/candle light yet? If you haven't, hold onto your heart (and your jaw--it might fall off) when you do.
