my sister''s engaged!

my sister's FI (!!) proposed last nite at dinner right before they left for their trip to Germany for three weeks!
my sister is three years older than i am and a medical extern (starting her residency next year) and recently moved back to MI from vegas. she's my MOH and it's been fun bonding over wedding stuff, and now we have hers to do too! they are thinking a June 09 wedding in Pittsburgh (where he went to school). From what we had talked about before, it's going to be a pretty lavish affair ("it's going to blow every other wedding out of the water....except jamesand lisa's" [our stepbro's wedding that was like 60k or something](haha what about mine?!..anyways)). since their wedding will only be 6 months after mine, it's going to be a pretty crazy 8 months until mine.

surfgirl - i wish we could get some deal on vendors! unfortunately our weddings are going to be three states away. and nah, no worries about stolen thunder. we have plenty of family and friends to go around and neither of us are SUPER into weddings, so i think it will really just make it more fun to have someone to go through it all with. we haven''t always been that close (we''re really different) but i''m looking forward to doing this together.

Yay! That''s great that you can bond over even more wedding stuff after your wedding is over! I think I went through a bit of wedding withdrawal for a little bit after my wedding was over, but I''m in full MOH mode for Sabine''s wedding now so I''m having fun looking at wedding things again.
