I got my OMC ring today and it's gorgeous! It's totally throwing off flashes of light but my photos can't capture any of that. Probably because it's pitch black here and raining. The vendor states that it's 1.32 carats, J-K, VS1 and is from the later Victorian period (around 1880).

First up is the vendor's pic. Even though it's pretty low res it shows the detail better than I was able to capture (and isn't that sad.)

My ering is 1.13 E SI2 (and apparently really filthy).

Gorgeous!!! Do you mind me asking who was the vendor?

Thanks! I bought it from The Goody Goddess on RubyLane.

Your diamond is absolutly gorgeous! Wow!

The setting side view let me perplexed! Look like a "medieval" setting. So unique and special! Congrats!

Thanks stci! Hopefully it won't be raining tomorrow and I can take some outdoor shots. My indoor shots are so dark.

The vendor states that the setting is Greek Revival and that it's made to look like an urn. I can kind of see that.

It's sunny here this morning so here are some (hopefully) not so dark pictures.

wow! great ring! That setting totally reminds me of natylady's Ering

Wow, that is just beautiful!! I'm jealous!

Absolutely gorgeous stone!!! And I love the ornate victorian mounting!!! Congrats on a great find!

Thanks all. I do love the diamond... dare I say that I love it more than my engagement ring diamond?

I'm not crazy about the mounting, my tastes run more towards the Edwardian.

Love it.

I bet the ring is some sort of Greek style. NatyLad has a modern setting with a very similar prong style and head, and I believe she is greek and the setting is a common style there, though unusual in N.Am.

Really pretty diamond and setting! Are you going to keep it in the setting? My taste typically is Edwardian too, but lately I have developed an appreciation for Victorian jewelry too! Thanks for sharing your new sparkly!

absolutely gorgeous! :appl:

That stone is amazing! The faceting is so pretty. I love the way older cuts reflect light.
