DH is not too fond of Aldwin right now, but I'm sure he'll warm up to him  Aldwin is an 18 inch pastel ball python, captive bred. He is very friendly and good with being held. I lost my other ball, Isabella, almost a year ago and was getting ready to finally sell my tank when I found Aldwin. It was  at first sight :cheeky: Here's a few photos of Aldwin checking out his new home. I hope he likes it! ::)

Congrats on your new pet!

Gives me the willies, but if you like him, I can appreciate how you like his coloring and unique markings. Very cool.

Not for me, but cool for you, Sparkly blonde! :appl:

Oooo...I love snakes. Yours has a pretty pattern. My hubby was like yours. Not fond on snakes at all.

I had a California King snake albino. He was so pretty and had ruby colored eyes. He was very friendly.
A Kenyan Sand Boa. She was always buried in her cave or under her rock. She was a short, very fat snake.
And I had a Red-tailed Boa. That snake had a grip on him.

It has been a while since I owned any snakes. I would love to get another someday.

He looks like he likes his new home! What a cutie!

What a beauty!

I've always wanted a snake. This will sound weird and morbid, but I also figured it would be a good way to recycle the lab mice (my mom used to do research with mouse models).

Gothgrrl, a Kenyan Sand boa is next on my list :cheeky: The two they had were such different personalities! One was very very nippy and the the other one just sat on my hand. Aldwin fit my main priorities - must be unique in some way, have a docile/good personality and most important, in case of escape (which I've never had happen, but just in case), cannot see my small dogs as food. I almost bought a Dumeril's Boa but feared that she would become too large as an adult with my small dogs around. MTG - free food for the snake :cheeky: That's just life and I don't see it as morbid. I find what we humans do to livestock to be far worse than feeding a mouse to a snake :errrr:

Congrats!

Beautiful snake! How big will he get?

4 to 5 feet. So not too big. I can't seem to keep his night temps up though and that's been a big PITA. Right now it's 9 degrees outside and it's a PITA to keep the house warm too so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it
