Hello everyone! You guys have helped me in the past with several of my own purchase for which I am so grateful  Now my nephew is searching for a ring for his future fiance :appl:
They went to Zales (sigh) and she found her dream ring however I convinced him to let me try and find one like it here, with a much better diamond of course!
I think the diamond in the pic is radiant cut with a square halo ??

He would like to spend under $4000 all in so I am hoping this is possible (the ring pictured from Zales was $3400) He has zero clue or ideas as to color/clarity and told me to just find one for him LOL

OMG thank you all! I am so excited for him :) I emailed Luann just now :appl:

does anyone know where to find that ring that will accomadate a radiant or cushion? The Gabriel one only holds a round and also Luann cannot get the signature rings from BN only virtual stones

Typically they will adjust a halo to fit the center stone so I'd ask but I can't imagine its a problem.

Your nephew would have to buy the stone loose and have it shipped to IDJ

ah ok I get it about the stone. Luann showed me a different band tho for a cushion but its not what he wants. I would prefer to get everything at one place he is already nervous about the whole shipping thing

Then I'd go with gog. They have square stones and sell gabriel and co. All in one place

Thanks I just emailed Jon as well

Do we know anybody who sells this company? The setting I think is higher quality, and sense the stone is small and he could do it in14k it would probably be 2k (per listed on the page)

My nephew said he does like this setting :

obviously it would need a round diamond and since I am bored lol would anyone like to help me find a virtual stone that IDJ might be able to get? Budget for the stone is $2250

THANKS! :appl:

Oh thank you lovemybling! I couldnt find that for the life of me LOL! :appl:

Thanks Niel! I have been talking with David at GOG also so I will send him those too :appl:

They have some radiantsthat are Ks and 90 points, as I'm suryouve noticed. But who knows what they look like.

I'm not sure how he'd feel about a K though. If at all possible I would like to see him get an I. He just said she definitely wants "squareish" so I guess rounds are out.

Hi OP, if it make you feel any better the Zales center stone probably was a K, lol (by GIA standards). Ask GOG about K's but I've heavily researched colors and my feeling is an Ideal cut can be very white and bright in a K, but I understand your reservations, everyone has their color tolerances. It might be worth considering for the much bigger size and the fact the setting would hide the sides (although I did not finding hiding a real necessity in a K). Please keep us posted on your process, this is such a fun thread!

Oh I bet it was LOL

Well they have confirmed that she does want a PRINCESS cut after all, she didnt care for the rounded edges on the cushion. GOG is searching for me and I have not heard back from IDJ yet, I think they may be closed on Saturdays??

You may want to consider a square radiant. I think they have much prettier faceting than a princess plus the corners are cut so the are less likely to chip or break. Princesses generally have to have those big 'V" prongs which can be very bulky especially in the setting you were thinking about.

though that is just my opinion

Just so you can see what I mean about the shape and faceting

Thank you! I will see what she thinks of that one :)
