If you didn''t see my other thread, FF ask for my mom''s blessing on Thanksgiving...Well she can''t keep a secret (especially from me)...so of course I knew the next day...Well I started asking all sorts of LIW related questions...

ME: Did he show you the ring?
Mom: No.
ME: Did he say he has a ring?
Mom: I didn''t ask.
ME: Did he say when he was planning on asking?
Mom: I didn''t aks that either.
ME: MOM!!! What do you know than?!?!?
Mom: Nothing except he wants to marry you.
ME: Your no help

SOOOO....Talked to her today and our conversation goes like this:

Mom: I texted C to see if I could take him to lunch?
Me: Oh...ok

What did he say?
Mom: (C to my mom) Is everything ok?....(my mom to C) Of course I was just so shocked and happy on Thanksgiving that I forgot to ask all the motherly questions and details that I wanted too....if your willing to share of course...
Me: Really!!! What did he say next?
Mom: (C''s text to my mom) Of course I want to share everything....Let me check my schedule and let you know when everything works out

Sorry if that was hard to follow....bottom line she''s taking him out for lunch for the "details".
Now all I have to figure out is what, if anything, do I REALLY want to know....

Anyway...My mom should become a proposal detective.

You know that she won''t be able to keep it a secret (judging by the fact that she told you about him asking immediately), so it is best that she does not know the plans for the proposal so she won''t be forced to keep a lid on it.


My fiance asked my parents on a Wednesday for their blessing, told them about the proposal (invited them to come) and proposed on Sunday. Any longer than that, and your mom will have a hard time keeping it from you!

Ohhhh I know that ultimately at the end of the day I want to be suprised

....And if I told her "Don''t tell me anything" she wouldn''t. It''s just soooo hard!!!!

I know one of the main reasons she told me about FF asking for her blessing is because I''ve been hounding her about it....It was really important to me that he ask, and I really wanted to know when he did it...Him asking for my mom (and grandpa''s) blessing is something I wish I had on film....It''s just super special to me. I wanted to know everything about everything! And I''m glad I do...I don''t regret knowing...and it didn''t ruin anything about the proposal for me.

I know I want to be suprised about when he''ll ask and what the ring looks like...I LOVE suprises....I just hate the anticipation. If that makes sense.

Stop having your mom pry. Think how much more fun it will be to tell your mom how it all happened to you, rather that the other way around.

He did what you wanted... which was ask for the blessing. Now it is your turn to do what he wants... which is wait patiently for the proposal. You probably have less than 30 days. You can do it!
