Hi Everyone, I haven''t posted in a while, but I am bursting to share my new upgrade :) My current e-ring is round, 2.35 H SI2 that I will be setting into a pendant. I will always cherish the round diamond that my husband originally proposed with, but deep inside, I always wanted something rather unique and colorful...that truly represents my personality. I''ve been lurking in the Colored Stone forum a lot lately, admiring the beautiful colored stones, and gathering information about my prospective colored diamond at the same time.

Anyways, I finally found her! I even named her "Peachy Precious".

She has soooo much personality and life to her! Her colors and hue change with different lighting conditions. Also, her cut is very unique. It looks like a heart but without a cleft. It''s kinda like what you would get if a pear and a heart had a baby...LOL.....

Here are the specs:

Cut: Cleftless Heart

Weight: 2.56

Color: Peachy Gray (but varies in different lighting and backgrounds)

Clarity: SI2 (more like I1, since there are two white feathers on the lower part of the table and a white crystal inclusion. Because of this, the stone does not
always look eye clean from 10 inches. But I''m okay with it, because the size and color more than makes up for it

Measurements: 8.10 X 9.74

PICS TO COME!!!!

You really should post this in Show Me the Ring so more people will see it!

Thanks, Diamondseeker! I''m going to do that now while I''m posting pics.

It''s beautiful. Seriously. How are you setting it? Please post a ton of pics. What a great ring that''s going to make.

Niiiiiiice! Can I be obnoxious and ask how is it graded? Pinkinsh grey? Grayish brownish pink? Oh, and could you please post a full-size pic of your avatar? The colour looks great!

Looooove to see how you are going to set this!!! Rose Gold???? Mmmmm delish!

Wow, I love it!!! It's so beautiful. I'm soooooo jealous. I love colored diamonds.

Rose gold, Rose gold, Rose gold. At least the head should be rose gold, the shank, white gold.

Gorgeous diamond. I love colored diamonds as well. Inclusions in colored diamonds are fine, really. Shape is no big deal, either. My Little Green is an SI2 and a plump pear. It keeps the stone affordable, and really doesn''t matter. The wonderful color changes in different lights has to be amazing, and really holds your interest. I love the color and sparkle.

Looking forward to see how you set her. These colored diamonds somehow beg to be named, don''t they?

Enjoy your Peachy!

The one thing I really like about colored diamonds is that inclusions are typically not as important as in colorless or very light colored diamonds. I think people make too much out of inclusions in diamonds anyways. Who is really going to notice a big difference in IF to SI2 in anything other than a fancy step cut (emerald or asscher), but the price points make such a big difference. Color is key!! Well thanks for listening to my ranting, I can't wait to see what you are going to do with your diamond. A lot of colored diamonds I noticed are cut in a cleftless heart shape. I have an .80 point yellow-orange in a cleftless heart.

I posted on your other thread but I''ll say it again, Peachy is just gorgeous! I can''t wait to see her set.

How beautiful and unique!!! It''s going to be a stunning ring.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Blingilicious New Years!! Thank you so much for the kind, kind comments. Only Pricescopers truly understand this fascination for sparklies

That''s actually a great question because colored diamonds are a different species. It was graded Peachy Gray. I think that means the main color is gray. But peach (light orangy pink or light pinkish orange) is the secondary hue. But this is tricky because the stone looks, different in natural and artificial lighting, as in day vs. night, incandescent vs. flourescent, inside vs. outside. In the daytime indoors, it looks more like a light yellowish peach. But sometimes it looks champagne with a brown tint...but sometimes it looks pink. But when I take pics with loupe, especially with different color backgrounds, the color looks more vivid. I can''t explain it!

TL, thank you for the kind post. I feel humbled, because I''ve been drooling over your colored diamonds and gorgeous tourmalines for a while now! Your colored diamond collection (which I aspired to have someday) is amazing....and that''s actually when my longing for something colored began. I purchased an oval imperial topaz for my birthstone ring, and it just has so much personality compared to my round H. I''m also the kind of girl that loves color in my life, be it decorating or paintings or clothes. I don''t know...colored stones just make sense to me...you know? And don''t you LOVE the different gemstone flavors???

I completely agree with you about the concept of inclusions. As someone who wore a CZ while my husband and I saved for my first e-ring, I get suspicious of anything that looks too perfect, even in diamonds. Not only do inclusions reassure me that my stone is real, but I don''t believe in paying more for something I can''t see. I am perfectly comfortable with a slightly included stone, as long as the beauty and brilliance isn''t affected. But like you said, COLOR IS KEY!! And as a size-freak, clarity is not on my priority list. Neither is cut.

Rose gold never occured to me until you and other posters mentioned it. Can a rose gold head still work with a platinum shank?

Thank you for the compliments on my colored diamond collection. Believe me, it is nothing next to some other people that really get into collecting these stones, like one PS-er who keeps showing his GIA graded intense green diamond at 1 million per carat.

You can do a rose gold head with a platinum shank, people do gold heads with platinum shanks (or vice versa) all the time. I''d surround that puppy with small white mellee in a rose gold halo. It''s very beautiful and congratulations once again!!

What a GORGEOUS and UNIQUE stone - I can''t wait to see how you set her
