I think it is because the grade making inclusion is a cloud according to the report, this can sometimes cause a loss of brilliance in SI2 but obviously not a problem in a hand selected diamond like this from a trusted vendor.Date: 2/23/2009 8:59:34 PM

Thanks everyone. In the pictures, the hearts look so clean. Can anyone tell me why this stone got an SI2? I am not familiar with rounds. Much appreciation.

Do FICs, TICs and BICs differ only in crown angles? Nice rock, by the way!
That did help me, thanks, because I was wondering how one could tell that it was an FIC.Date: 2/24/2009 7:36:45 AM

There is less flexibility with the pavilion angles that with the crown. For fiery ideal cuts the pavilion angle should be 40.6 and under, and the crown angle should be greater than 35.5.Date: 2/25/2009 3:47:28 PM

Lorelei, I did read that but, like Demon, I wondered if pavilion angles stayed the same as in any Ideal cut. It seems strange that only changing the crown angles could make much of a difference, but maybe if I saw examples in actual diamonds, it would be obvious. Of course, that is not going to happen as I don't have any PS vendors anywhere near me. Poor me!
Thank you. And thanks for the bump, NEU!Date: 2/26/2009 4:51:04 AM

Thanks, Lorelei! I will have to pay attention to the angles now. Do you know if anyone has made a tutorial comparing FICs, TICs and BICs? Jonathan, oh Jonathan, I smell a new video topic!Date: 2/26/2009 4:51:04 AM
