I wanted to share my experience with GOG on these forums. After numerous weeks of searching and price analysis, I finally came to a conclusion as to what I wanted. I had posted 2 stones that were both excellent and finally had the chance to go to the actual store last Thursday night. I made an appointment with Jonathan and all my expectations were met and then exceeded. He introduced himself to me and you can see the genuine passion he has for the business and the products he sells. We spent about an hour comparing 2 diamonds so that I would understand why Cut is so important as well as the other proportions of the diamond. As my usualy inquisitive self I asked many questions throughout his tutorial. He demonstrated the ASET test, H&A viewer and the Diamond Dock while explaining how each instrument worked and what its purpose was. After his tutorial we got down to business, he brought out several stones but I already had in mind 2 that I was interested in purchasing. So he showed me both stones and they were both gorgeous (http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1782 and http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1793/) I really could not decide so Jonathan suggested that he place both stones in the placeholder and let me compare them without knowing which one was which and pick the stone based on my visual perception. This was a great idea and although it was tough to decide I ultimately decided to choose the 1.505.

After making payment the real fun began, Jonathan and Marie helped me choose a wonderful Tiffany 6 prong setting for the diamond. Here is a pic of it.
I called several times to make sure the ring was being worked on and I am sure I probably got on their nerves

But as always they were polite and pleasant and always left me feeling a sense of security. I picked up the ring today and had some issues with the courier but Vicki was awesome in helping me obtain my package. I also received such a thorough appraisal that my insurance carrier was extrememly impressed. Overall the experience was amazing and they are truly worth all the praise that they receive. I never felt any pressure and all my questions and concerns were always addressed with fast and thorough responses. I will definitely recommend my colleagues to head to GOG when they purchase their rings. The ring is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to see my girlfriend's face when she sees it.
Jonathan and his team are just awesome, plain and simple.

Congrats! Looks like a real beauty...

Isn''t it funny how after all the gadgets and gizmos, it still comes down to your personal preference when comparing! I guess all the "toys" help us know what is good before we look...

Reports and toys are essential but seeing it live is just as important. Sometimes there might be something we just don''t like about it.
