Hi All,

This is my first post but I have been researching and reading member's posts for close to a year now. I'm finally going to purchase a loose round stone so I can propose to my girlfriend of 10 years! She is very special to me and she deserves the best as she has given me what every man dreams of with love/support/friendship that I can ever ask for.

I'm not very well educated on diamond which I'm asking for help. I understand Color/Clarity & Cut but what I'm truly aiming for is Superior/Shine Performane & Size for my money. So with that in mind, I want to purchase a BGD diamond as he is local to me and I'm very amazed and blown away with his Heart & Arrows cut. I had plenty of opportunities to purchase a loose diamond overseas since I travel 3 times a year to marvelous paradise we call Dubai UAE :D but I just dont really trust their diamond sales and certification on their stones.

I definately want a 1.25c eyeclean and my price budget is 4500 to 5000 max for a loose stone now and we will do the custom band/setting after wards.

Please tell me if this is a good deal as I've seen this stone in person and is a BGD H&A cut. I want fully honest opinions as I can still hold off and continue searching via online vendors or wait until the right stone comes across with BGD.

honestly, even without pictures, I trust Brian's H&A, and I think you've made a great choice to go with Brian and the diamond you have selected will be stunning! and since you have seen it in person, you know how stunning it is! so congrats on this purchase and the upcoming nuptial!

Ditto this. There are a few vendors who I simply trust with respect to their branded lines and selection is a no brainer, and BGD is one.

I own a J color stone from BGD and I think you will be more than happy with this one! It is so big for your budget!

I would also perhaps suggest having it set in a simple white gold solitaire, which only costs about $250. That way you can propose with a ring and your fiance can wear and enjoy it while you decide on a forever setting!

D&T and Dreamer_D;

Thank you for the reconfirmation on trusting BGD. I did created a good client/customer bond and he is very wise with his products which gave me alot of comfort with trusting him.

The stone is eye clean without any hint of yellow eventhough it is J category. He compared it another stone in equivalent size but in a H VS cut and I could not tell the difference besides the huge price increase LOL :loopy: .

I dont know if I should be concern with the cyrstal marks on the report though....

Any more inputs??

if it is eye-clean, the crystal do not matter.

I just got my BGD 1.31 VS2 J and was also concerned with the J. Thanks to PSers - especially Dreamer's suggestions to simply ask BGD for their opinion, I got a beautiful white diamond. Jamie confirmed this info before I bought the stone and I would trust her judgment completely.
