Hi Ladies! I know my wedding isn''t till September but I had my first hair trial yesterday. Since I am getting married about 2 hrs from NYC I had to start early to find someone that I trust. I didn''t want to use anyone in the area we are getting married because I couldn''t find anyone that had good reviews. Since I live in the NYC area I knew there had to be someone great that would travel. Well, I found her. She did 4 styles on me in an hour and a half. Now, I have really long straight hair that is really, really heavy! She knew exactly what to do and I''m happy that she will be doing my hair the day of. I''m going to post the 2 styles that I am trying to decide between and if you want I''ll post the other two that I decided really aren''t me but only if you want to see them. So, the first picture is the side of the style that my fiance loves. It was actually the last one she did so its not as neat as the other. Of course that will be rectified the day of.

the other side....

The back. As you can see its a little messy but she did 3 styles on me before that. When I post the first style you''ll see it will be much cleaner.

On to the first style that she did on me. I love this one but my fiance doesn''t like that you can''t see my neck...

Like I said, I have pics of the two other styles that she did but I think I am going to go with one of these so I didn''t post them. If you want me to I will. I really love the second style that I posted but my fiance loves the first. I now have the next 9 months to figure out which one I want. I will be wearing a birdcage veil too.

I really like the second style you posted but in saying that both styles are beautiful I think whichever you pick you will look amazing :).

gRRR.. ps ate my post. Anyway...thank you. I really like the second one too but my DF loves the first one. What would you do. Pick the one df likes or the one you like?

That's a toughie, I mean I want to be 100% comfortable with the way I look that day and feel as pretty as I can but I also want him to love it as well. I would probably ask my stylist if lifting the bottom layer of curls up slightly to show more neck would alter the look dramatically and then decide that way both parties get what they want.

ETA: I asked my FI which he liked better and he also said the first one so he agrees with your FI.

I think that the second one is beautiful!! Maybe get her to lift it a bit at the back like Deelight said so that your fiance is happy with it too.

Thanks girls! I was thinking the same thing. I''ll probably try and do a trial with her right before so that I can make sure to be 100%. Either way, I felt great in both of them so I think either one is a go. I just love the way the second one looks from the back!

Dee...too funny about your fiance. What do they see that we don''t?

LOL I thought it was funny as well, I tried asking him again but he is currently in the land of game and can''t hear me

lol...either he didn''t hear you or he just really doesn''t want to talk about some random girls hair

Still funny! I think my fiance just likes the profile. I''m hoping that if we move it up a bit it doesn''t look weird in the middle of my head. Sigh...well again...quite a few months to decide and I''m sure I''ll go back and forth for the time being...

I loooooove the second one that you posted! Both you and your hair are so pretty

eta- I just saw that your FI prefers the first. hmmm that is tough. umm I think I would still go with the second

Aww... thanks ice. I forgot to add that my stylist said that with the low styles sometimes the problem can be that when the men hug you, their cufflinks get caught in the back of the hair. LOL! That brought up a really funny picture in my head of me being aloof the day of my wedding shying away from hugs to protect my hair. A girls got to look good on her wedding right?

He does have his headphones on so I think he really can''t hear me.

I don''t have Photoshop atm but I did a quick job in paint and just blanked out a little of the side and a tiny bit of the bottom so that it would show more neck without having to actually lift the hair-do essentially it looks much the same but it just shows a little more neck.

I apologise for the crappy paint job.

Thanks D! I think that looks good. I think either way part of the problem is that I have soo much hair. She suggested cutting a few inches and I'm wondering if that will help bring it up a little. Nice photoshopping skills.

eta...I meant paint skills..

Your welcome :), if someone has photoshop they could do a much better version.

To me from the photo''s your hair looks fine as in not to much but from what I have heard from other brides with up-do''s a few inches below shoulder height is a good amount to work with but I would ask your stylists opinion on what she thinks is best.

Wow that is good feedback. Right now my hair is a few inches longer than my braw strap. Seriously, its getting out of control. So, cutting it is probably a good idea.

Oohhh good choices! Either will look beautiful. My preference is the second one.

Ditto what everyone else said about trying it a bit higher, but honestly, on the day of the wedding I doubt your hubby will say "you look beautiful - I just wish your hair was a bit higher." Everything looks totally different when you have your dress on. Keep in mind that you will likely have a fully open chest and back so there is lots of skin showing - right now you have a shirt on so the covered neck issue is...well...an issue.

Good luck! You will be a stunning bride!

I really like the "photoshopped" version EM1. I vote for that!.

Both are SOOO elegant and soft and pretty! Love ''em!

I say go with the second, and maybe take suggestions of other BIWs.... (hair cut, pull it up a little more, etc(

The first one is pretty but very, very, very common/popular. It reminds me a bit much of a prom up-do. The second one is SO chic and womanly and not as girly. Soft and natural. And with a birdcage veil? Ow ow! So yes. My vote is for the second! :)

i absolutely love the second style on you!!! just perfect!!!

I like the first one better! It doesn't shorten your neck like the second one, which makes you look more elegant, IMO.

Oh, my goodness--you have such beautiful hair! I am totally envious. You look great in both styles, but I like the lower style most. It looks romantic and sophisticated. Even if you don''t see much neck, you will be able to see the top of your back, which I think will make it look more appealing to your FI. I''d see what it looks like an inch higher, then decide. (BTW, I''m also thinking of doing a low updo, but my hair is shorter and thinner

I love two, FI likes one
