My First Daniel M Project : Green Tourmaline in White & Yellow Gold

Hello PSers!

My husband recently purchased a tourmaline cut by Wayne Emery (RIP) for me from Dan Lynch.

I admired the various Daniel M posts and decided to contact him via Etsy. He was very kind and accommodating. From first contact to receipt of ring, it was about 1.5 months.

I sent him my inspiration piece, as I wanted the stone set on a bias:

He came up with this CAD and offered it to me in WG, RG, YG or a combo:




I chose white gold with a yellow gold bezel.

At first, I thought I wanted it more angular like the inspo photo but realized his instincts about matching it to the shape of the stone were better once he sent me the revised CAD.

Thanks @dk168 !! It's not my typical style (I tend to like more structured/angular pieces) but it's a good change! Daniel's pricing makes it easy to experiment. My local jeweler wanted $1500 for this setting. I got it for less than half!

Thanks @Mooshi !! I do not have a thread for that one, since it wasn’t a project…more like an impulse buy from Instagram haha

I don’t have very many details on it but here are the stats:
1.13 ctw diamonds
1.41 ct Colombian emerald
Black onyx
18k white gold

I love how bold it is

Thank you @gingercurls ! So glad the two-tone worked out…I’m more a WG girl, but was told YG enhances green so went for it. It’s definitely growing on me!

Hi Timor! Thank you! It's my first two tone piece (as an adult...apparently I had a lot of tri-color gold jewelry when I was in my teens) and I'm enjoying it! I honestly don't know the weight of the gold - I will ask Daniel M and try to find out!
