I've been ebaying! I've been hunting down OECs/transitional diamonds for what seems like months. I finally got in all of my treasures!
The ring is 1.04ct and is 6.53mm. The ring just happened to be my size (4.5). The ebay pictures were BAD but I felt brave and it paid off! The sides are .39 (4.4) and .34 (4.5mm). Any black in my pics are just a reflection of the camera. I'm working with JBEG on a bezeled three stone ring. I'm so excited! Hopefully I'll have some new eye-candy for you all VERY soon! I got quotes from Leon and Singlestone as well. I was surprised how reasonable they all were price-wise.

Thanks to Uppy and coatimundi, your bezeled three stone rings were great inspiration.

Pictures of the sides. They were impossible to photograph!

Ack!!!! I am quite jealous right now. lol Can't wait to see pictures.

ekkk me too me too! I have also been trying to collect OEC's for a 3 stone bezel. So far I only have one of the sides stones- a .34ct 4.5mm OEC. Please post pictures when the ring is complete! I can't wait to see it! I know it will be gorgeous!

It takes so much patience to get matching ebay bargains! I applaud you! :appl:

That's going to look so pretty, I can't wait to see!

My heart just sped up by about 40 bpm!! Those are gorgeous!!!! I'm so excited that you're going to trust JbEG with this project. They'll do you right. And isn't it fun when that thrill of the find pays off?? You're going to enjoy the finished ring that much more because you personally searched and searched for the right stones.

ohhhhh what GORGEOUS stones pixies!!!

Can't wait to see the final ring, and feel free to post (dozens) more pics of them loose in the meantime :sun:

Thanks yssie, upgradable, kelpie, sarahbear621, and lisarn! The hunt *really* is enjoyable. I bought a .60ct OEC for the center originally. I was worried about size at first since I am bezeling them but the second I saw the first diamond I knew I could go bigger. and I did! Might as well do it up right so that I won't get the upgrade itch :naughty: I had already contacted JBEG and was ready to get things started and wanting a larger diamond threw a kink in my plans.

Can you believe I got the smaller stone on Friday and was able to hunt down another larger diamond and have it arrive by Monday? I guess my constant browsing payed off. The seller had HORRIBLE pics but I was brave and decided to roll the dice. I got the center for 1400! The only inclusion is a feather by one of the prongs which the seller mentioned in the auction. For the price I couldn't be any happier. I read a post where someone was looking for an OEC this size. I think on ebay the old diamonds are overpriced/high (when the diamond is nice and the seller knows what they've got) ,the seller doesn't know what they've got and you have to use really general terms like estate or antique and weed through hundreds of items, or the seller has subpar pics so the piece doesn't move. The diamond I bought had been relisted. I'm attaching a pic that the seller had in the auction. I can see why no one pounced the first time. It'd be hard to imagine what the diamond would look like. So deals can be had if you are patient and are willing to take a chance.

I would like to say I'd work with Singlestone in a heartbeat! Ari is SO quick in responding to emails! I love that in a vendor. I plan on purchasing a band from them in the future (anniversary gift :wink2: ). It was between Singlestone and JBEG. I knew they would both produce something lovely but I really wanted the ring done for when my mom is coming to visit. So that pretty much clenched my decision to go with them for this project. I've loved all of their rings they've produced thus far.

We are either going to do a three stone version of the Julia with milgrain around the bezels and the sides would be plain, no pave OR a custom design. I attached a pic of what I was thinking of if we went custom. I'd add milgrain to the bezels and have some sort of side detail like on the right (but not exactly that). For the Julia three stone Erica said the scroll detail would be under the center stone. I think the CADS will help steer me in the right direction.

What does everyone think? The Julia seems to be quite popular on here.

OMG! OMG! OMG!

(where is the icon of the flipping / skipping / summersaulting face when you need it!!)

so excited for you!!

I just got my first tranny - with the plan of making a three stone ring out of it...

but after looking for a year - just to get the one so far - I was ready to settle on a pendant

but now you have spurned me on again!!

ooooh!! can not wait to see how your ring turns out

:appl: :appl: :appl:

Nice job! I love the 1.04 ct. It was me who was looking for something like that. I vaguely recall the pic, but maybe was turned off by the description? It sure turned out to be a winner though, and I would have been happy to get that! :appl: It didn't work out for me this round. I settled on a modern etoile setting I loved, with a modern .76ct center. I think I was wanting a bigger OEC, which means that I must have a bigger budget and be prepared to go lower in colour. I love your ideas for a 3 stone. Can't wait to see pics!

Lyra, I love etoile rings. I'm sure it will turn out great! I almost went with round brilliants. It's much easier to purchase RBs, they are readily available so you get instant gratification, etc! I didn't have any concrete time line for this project originally so I decided to wait it out and it seemed to work out.

The sellers description turned me off too - "G color, flashy, one feather inclusion". I'd rather have no description and decent pictures so I can see what I need to know! I messaged the vendor and said I'd purchase it to check it out in person since the pics were less than desirable. Conversely, the smaller .60 OEC I had originally bought had awesome pictures but was not right for me. I think sometimes you just have to buy it and see it in person to see what's right.

Heliotrope, I love your JM ring! I was bummed out that he no longer works with customer stones. I originally went to him for this project but it didn't work out. I'm really excited too. This has been a fun treasure hunt thus far. I don't want to stop :naughty: . I had the hardest time with the side stones. Every time I decided on one someone else purchased it! I ended up buying the sides from the same vendor.

I think this project will be right up JBEGs alley. I'm shipping my diamonds today! We are shooting for a November 10 completion date. I'll post my cads when I get them.

Good idea! :naughty:

Love your stones pixies! What an exciting project. I can't wait to see the final ring. Are you doing platinum?

I'm so psyched to see another bezel 3 stone!!

I can't wait to see it, I really can't!

I'm envious of those who enjoy the hunt - I wish I had the patience to *wait* for something once I know I want it! You definitely found some beauties :sun:

Pardon me, but what are you doing with the solitaire setting? It has a classic line.

ditto! so excited for u!!!!

Reader, I'm not sure yet. The bottom of the shank has worn thin but is still wearable. I thought about setting a gemstone in it since I can wear a 4.5 on my right hand as well.

Coatimundi, I was really torn between 18k gold and platinum for a while. I originally didn't want to wear a band with it every day (this is replacing my old set so it will be an engagement/wedding ring) but I would like to get some skinny stackers for when the mood strikes. I eventually want a yellow diamond band to wear with it, and I love rose gold as well so I'd like the option to wear bands of different color to switch it up so that sold me on gold.

OMG, how gorgeous!!! I'm jealous! I know ebay can be risky, but sometimes it's worth taking a chance...I did with my diamond studs, and I just love them and they were a great price...there are treasures out there to be had, and you've done an excellent job in tracking them down! I'm happy and excited for you, your ring is going to be stunning, I can't wait to see the finished product!

Pixies that is sooo exciting :appl:

I know your 3 stone will be TDF   Can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm so happy that you found such a beautiful stone for a steal. I personally love the custom design ring. I know either one you decide will be beautiful. I know JBEG makes some beautiful rings so I can't wait to see yours. I'm glade you went with a vintage stone instead of an RB they just have so much more personality.

I've got CADs to share! I love how they turned out. The shank tapers from 2.8mm to 1.4mm at the base of the side stones.

I also went with a size 4.25 after getting my ring size checked again. The 4 fit and the 4.5 had some extra space so I decided to split the difference. It looks like I'll get good finger coverage

WOW, I cant wait to see the finished ring... the CADs look amazing!

You certainly will! :naughty:

It's going to be gorgeous-can't wait to see the finished ring! Love it!

Thanks everyone! I posted a thread over in RT for the CADs since there seems to be heavier traffic there. I figured that way anyone who is considering a setting from JbEG could see them. Erica has been great to work with! The design is everything I wanted. The profile is so pretty.

I thought I'd add the additional shots here too for those that don't frequent both forums!

Just Gorgeous!!! I love how the scrolls frame the profile of the center stone!

I'm still waiting (not so patiently) on my 3-stone re-set. I have no idea when it will be done. DH is torturing me!!

This is such a beautiful ring, I'm usually not a 3 stone fan, but this one is perfection!

(and I like your little poochie too, I have a Chi myself! ;)) )
