YEAH!! I am so excited! I finally picked-up my dress yesterday :) It was so much fun and well worth the wait. My mom, sister and 2 nieces came with me. They helped me select the most gorgeous head pieces (i did not get a photo of that, but i really makes the ensemble). I loved the whole look...dress, veil, shoes, earrings, headpiece. I am so relieved. Like others on the fourm, I was second guessing whether I made the right choices. I can finally rest assured knowing I love everything. The best part of the whole day was my niece.

She will be 4 in March and is one of my flower girls. She is soooooo excited. Every time she comes over, she wants to try on he FG dress. Well, when I asked my sister and nieces to join me when I picked-up my dress, my niece asked if I could bring her "wedding dress", that is what she calls her FG dress. She is so sweet, she even call the wedding "our wedding". So, of course I had to bring it! It was great. I tired on my gown and came out to show everyone. Then, I brought my niece back into the fitting room and she put on her wedding dress. When we came back out, everyone at the shop was oohing and ahhing. My niece was so excited and her smile was as big as they come. When I looked at us in the mirror is "our wedding dresses", I got tears to my eyes. It was just a fantastic moment!!

Here is a photo :)

awww your niece is a dote-look at her smile!! You look amazing in your dress-it looks perfect on you!

You look beautiful :), and your niece just looks a picture of adorable cuteness (especially with her flower)

How fantastic that she is so excited :D

Mintve- I love your story, and congratulations on having someone around, that no matter what goes on, will be sooooo excited about "your" day, lol... I guess "her" day as well!! As I write this, I have tears in my eyes. When I moved to Houston, my sister moved back to DFW, and I had to leave. She has a niece that absolutely adore and miss with all my heart. It is so hard to be away, and miss her growing up. I swear everytime I see her, she's at least an inch taller and knows 15 more words.

Anyway, when I was home for Thanksgivng, we went and looked at Flower Girl dresses. It was one of the most amazing things in my life. She lit up everytime she tried on a new dress and did more twirls that day that I thought was humanly possible!! I know exactly how you feel. It's a truly wonderful feeling!! When she was taking off the last dress she said, "But mom, if I take it off, all the people won't tell me how beautiful I am." I love her!!!

For her birthday, I'm making her a "practice" bouquet to play with until the wedding. My sister told me that she practices all the time.

ETA: My niece will be 4 in 2 weeks. Sorry, didn't mean to thread jack, I just love talking with other people that have nieces. None of my friends have siblings that are old enough to have kids yet, other than babies.

Nieces are so special! I am so grateful to have her and its amazing to create such special memories with her! I know what its like to live far away from family. I was living in Vegas when my sister found out she was expecting. I was at a crossroads and decided I did not want to miss out on new family memories, so I decided to move back to Atlanta.

To cute! I can''t wait to see more pics of the "get up" LOL! My niece-in-law is our "flower maiden" because shes to old to be called "girl" and I can''t wait to see her in the dress either! YAY for cute nieces!
