Hi all.
Like others I’m always keen to recycle or repurpose a piece of vintage or antique jewellery that needs a new purpose in life.
I spotted the diamond watch band on eBay. There was no watch movement at all, and of course with an unusual case shape finding a suitable replacement movement wasn’t going to happen.
So basically the seller sold it to me for scrap.
Now my dear friend Suz sent me over a lovely green tourmaline from her gem collection and it was just the ticket.
Kisses to Suz.
Here it is, it’s a beautiful 3 carat octagon cut green tourmaline set simply into a white gold plaque which closes up “the hole”.
Total weight is now 23 grams and the two diamond pears are estimated at .45 carat each plus another 2 carats or so of round and baguette diamonds.
Now, I was going to send it to DK but his quote - ouchie (plus the x2 insured International shipping) AND he is so busy, I just trusted my local bench jeweller.
No CAD, no detailed drawings just a brief discussion and voila!
Very happy.

This is a lovely conversion. Really lovely. Congratulations on an awesome save!

This is gorgeous! I love recycled jewellery, and you certainly know how to do it in style. Amazing!

Nice job! Very pretty!

Wow that's wonderful! I love the shape of that tourmaline, it works so well with the rest of the bracelet, you don't get the sense that that was once a watch. I really like the plain plaque but I could also imagine it decoratively engraved if you would ever consider that?

Seems like a crazy amazing bargain!

Would be curious to see a video, the light play must be insane?

Congratulations!

Wow, what a neat idea! Love it!

Beautiful conversion. Enjoy @Bron357 :appl:

It's stunning, I absolutely love it! Your jeweler did a great job. :appl:

How clever and how beautiful, well done!! :appl:

You find the most amazing things! Stunning!

Oh my!! what a fantastic idea and such a clever conversion! your Green tourmaline has a slight blue in the middle, and could be my tourmaline's relative! the coloring is so similar and the strip of blue. Such a beautiful piece!

It is just perfect. I would never have guessed the tourmaline wa not original to the design. Look forward to the results of your jade conversion project too!

Great conversion! I love the color of the tourmaline.

Looks great!

Oh wow! That came out great!

Super gorgeous. And yay for local jewelers! As muchv as I’d like to send things to DK at times, the cost, mailing, and wait times usually end up deterring me. Especially since most of the designs I like aren’t all that intricate lol

I love love love the pears!

OMG! This is spectacular!!

It turned out great!! The color of that stone is lovely!

Ooooh, I just love this! What a fantastic idea.

Wowsers, it’s gorgeous

:appl:What a fun idea and it turned out so well.

Really great idea! Looks beautiful!
