Gary has been looking for a light yellow round sapphire for me for a while now. He would go to Sri Lanka with his list of what his customers want and then he would email me to say he didn’t find one. I would tell him to just keep looking and when he finds it, he finds it

He found it :appl: it only needed a slight recut by him and is a mixed round cut.

Now my not so great photos— had surgery on Monday and am using a walker etc. I think the sapphire fogged up from going to the house to the patio, so take that into consideration lol.

I just wanted to grab a few shots. It glows pink with fluro

I promise you all will be the first to know when I get my nails done . I can’t drive right now and am on pain killers so it won’t likely be this week.

Yes, I recognize I have a fingernail problem :roll2:. I understand that I likely have the worse nails on PS;)2:(2I’ve also been under doctor’s orders to not shower or bathe until today. Can do a quick shower. Yikes! TMI lol

This is going to be a halo daisy ring. Inspiration so far:

Also, I invite you to add inspiration photos. Thank you.

Gary said it was sold to him as unheated, and his examination shows the way the silks are that he feels it is lightly heated. I opted not to send to AGS for a gem brief as this will have to sit in the safe for 1-2 years likely. I’ve bought entirely too much jewelry lately and my wallet is smoking and needs to recover.

I will likely set my emerald first. (Thinking a toi et moi for that one with a round diamond).

I will send for gem brief eventually.

Oh and as you can see the outside edge of the stone sort of has a bezeled look, which actually doesn’t bother me. I am probably going to bezel the stone anyway, so I believe the setting should take care of that mostly.

So, so pretty! You forgot to give the deets, but we will forgive you since you are on meds:lol:

Well wishes for a speedy recovery!

Edited to say I now see it's on the first pic. And I'm NOT on meds, lol

I couldn’t believe it that Gary found exactly what I was looking for in the size and price range too!

@Mrs_Strizzle that’s ok lol. I would say it’s from Sri Lanka, lightly heated, 2.3 carats. I’m not sure about the clarity, but it’s rather clean.

I absolutely love yellow sapphires, and I think this is going to be gorgeous once you set it. I love your second inspiration picture, but I’m partial to making my stones the star of the show. Can’t wait to see it finished!

I'm usually not that into yellow sapphires, but yours is really beautiful. I look forward to seeing your daisy. Hope you recover from your surgery quickly. My dad had surgery last year, and rehab was a drag.
