I have been on a tear this week. This jade obcession. I stumbled into nephrite colors. Who knew there was so much range in colors. None of these are super expensive, but all the same I am so excited to add to my collection. Vendor's photos.

Certified Natural Premium Quality Multi-Color Hetian Nephrite Bead Bracelet, Matte Finish 和田玉多宝手串
YinJade on Etsy... I just loved these nephrite stones.

Finally, I just loved this little carved safety button in orange red jade. This was from Jadeite room. This is an absolute snack of orange yumminess. I know it has big grain, but I love the color.

And then this Icy Jadeite piece:

And now for a crazy story. After I sold my green nephrite cuff (below) I really missed it. It was such a vivid green. Anyhow, maybe a year after I sold it, I saw it for sale on eBay. Long story short, I rebought my old bangle. I even checked measurements and the inclusions mapped to old photos, but I knew it was the one I sold. My son said he may take the keys to my jewelry box. I think he was joking.

She was lovely even. Ugh I hate typos.

Oh no. I was just reading and thought, this is such a great story, to let go of a piece and then have that very same piece find its way back to you... And to read that it's broken now. How do these things happen sometimes.

Thanks @Avondale, I am very disappointed in the outcome too. So much for romatic outcomes. The poor box was so crushed in transit. Not sure what happened, it was wrapped in a bangle box with some packing materials, but encountered a nasty blow on the way. Happily, all the nephrite and jade is lovely so far. Still waiting for the yummy orange Pi. The bead bracelets are nephrite, but the colors are quite interesting. One bead is almost lime.

is that lovely donut icy ?

im still upset over your bracelet too

I’m with Daisy, that apricot one is suuuper cute! I wouldn’t mind owning something like that myself, even if jade is totally not my style.

The orange is not here yet...I can't wait! Hope it is close to that vibrant in color.

I also picked up some bead necklaces. This is an icy chatoyant nephrite. I think I will restring and knot like pearls on a matching silk and a plain ball closure.

and a dark green Guatamalen jadeite strand, which I will just wear as is, I think.

I wonder if the broken bangle could be salvaged, by cutting into smaller pieces and then set as a bracelet.

DK :))

The issue was the packaging, so the seller had it returned for a refund. I picked up a pretty Russian nephrite bracelet I am enjoying. A shame though!

The orange bi/pi came. It does look like an orange candy. The good news is it is the same as vendor photo. The bad news is, even though A grade, apparently it is heated.

I did have someone ask about it, they guessed carnelian. A good guess!

I want to eat it.

Nevermind me, I'm perpetually hungry this week. I'll go raid the fridge so I don't start licking the computer screen.

No lie, it makes me want to bite it too :D.

One more...okay two more incoming.
More beads (jadeite) from Kathy Jade (big sale now). Hubby calls them peas. I wear green often.

and a new bangle from Ultimate Jadite on Etsy, which I shouldn't have....so I got off my behind and listed some stuff on eBay.

Lovely!!! I adore my green beads and wear them often! Waaaaay tougher than pearls! You’ll enjoy yours too!

Your beautiful lavender and green necklace inspired me to buy this one. I love how your necklace looks so bright and fresh. I love pearls too, but they can be so shiny and dressy, and I think the jade can be more casual, especially the solid bright colors.

The bangle came and I do love it. IMG_1479.jpeg

But then I dropped into a rabbit hole of comparison. I have two other quiet pale green bangles. One with very fine translucency and a heavy splotch of a mineral in part of it. The other has some black spots but the texture is very fine. When I ping test the sound, the finer texture (bottom bangle) rings like a bell. The new bangle much less so. The texture is translucent, but more sugar crystals (3rd from bottom). I trust it is jadite because from Ultimate Jadeite, but curious in the differences. I’m, adding a picture for comparison of textures and fineness. Jade is so interesting. IMG_1507.jpeg

I bought this at ebay auction for a couple hundred dollars. This seller has a mings jade for 425 too.

Call me crazy, but could this be a jade? Look at the color change between beads. Clasp is 14k. I will restring and wear them if A or not...just kinda excited and wondering. If they were dyed b/c ,would they be more uniform?

Let me know what you think...

I am not an expert by any means, however, I do hope they are geniune lavender jade beads as the colours are very nice!

DK :kiss2:

Thanks! I am trying not to get my hopes up. They are pretty shiny for such old beads. Not sure what else they could be.

Very included Rose de France Amethyst?

DK :))

Could be...some sort of quartz or dyed agate? It would probably be some natural base for the small color changes between beads. I suppose dyed white jade. Even so, I do like the color.

Here is an A grade from etsy for comparisonScreenshot 2024-10-25 223710.png

It’s so hard to tell by eye MMtwo. That’s why I just bought heaps from my trusted sources and then stopped.

It’s a lovely colour at any rate! Post lots of pics for us when you get it!
