With no 8 and 9, they look pretty clean so I’m not sure how you sort synthetic from real with white ones. I think I need a microscope !
Sizes in carats approx are 1=3, 2= 3.5, 3=1, 4=2, 5=5, 6=1, 7=4, 8=6 and 9=1.5

What is the story on them?
I went to a house contents auction, elderly lady has passed and the family was selling everything inside. Mr, deceased some 20 years earlier, had been a jeweller. Amongst all the antique furniture, China, paintings, etc etc was a cardboard box, very battered, from inside the bottom of an old wardrobe that had a whole heap of very old jewelers odds and ends. There were old cutting tools (rusted) and other jewelers equipment plus and a ton of tiny metal tins with glass tins (rusted shut) full of gems. There was paper receipts for the 1940s and 50s plus everything was in inches (we went metric here in 1966) And a two tins of platinum and gold ring heads! I bought it (no one else was interested). The was over 40 grams of gold and platinum so I made a heap on that plus all the gems and sundries. It appears all these are less than “perfect” so he set them aside. I have had so much fun playing with these and hope a few are worthy of setting or selling after I get certification. 30C3FB95-1569-42F0-A607-4D364E534865.jpeg

Here’s an up photo. It’s a bit orange toned in one corner.

These two look well cut, no? Do you know if they’re treated? My guess would be yes. I love the both of them and the smaller emerald cut.

I’m presuming they are heat treated. I’m buying a microscope so I can check. Too expensive to get reports on them all.

Do you have one of those testers, I think it's called a refactometer?

I saw one that was combined with a microscope.

Not yet, I’m starting my course soon. I need a Refractomer, Polariscope, Dichroscope, Chelsea Filter, Spectroscope and a microscope.
I’ve been looking a microscopes, the good ones are very expensive, so I’m hoping a $1,000 one can see me through.
In two years time, I can certify my own gems!

I love that the measurements were in inches, @Bron357

What a neat treasure hunt, I love reading about your updates, and I love the pics of stones and carat weight for reference.
