Before anyone’s get too excited, my favourite No 2 has a massive crystal flaw though it’s such a pretty colour and zoning.
No 10 is possibly a Ruby, again, it’s quite included and has a number of chips on its girdle. I’m probably going to send No 10 and 11 away for a report. No 10 is big and if a Ruby I’d probably get it recut to fix up its girdle chips. And there is some sort of black residue on no 10. It’s scratches off, I’m working on it. The gems were all in little metal tins that were rusty with age so I’m wondering if it’s some sort of metallic transfer? With a needle I’m slowly getting it off them.
Sizes in carats approx 1=2, 2=5.5, 3=1.5, 4=1, 5=.70, 6=.50, 7=1.5, 8=1, 9=2.5, 10=6, 11=2.5.
