Moonstone? Locket

its really cool to have found this site! I have so much need for knowledgeable info with these pieces. Has anyone seen a mark like this one? It’s a tiny bug. Eyes appear to be ruby while the shell is vivid yellow and opalescent.

What a cool design! Yellow opal is definitely a possibility. I’m not seeing the opalescence, so amber also came to mind for me - but you have the piece in hand so you’re in the best position to judge that!

Yes I think opalescent was wrong word. It’s shimmery like tigers eye. Very reflective.

Yes! It very much has a mother of pearl look! Its rose gold, looked very washed out in the earlier pic

So interesting! Now I can see that it is rose gold. I love that it has photos inside! Family, I presume?
It looks like it has seen a lot of wear, based on the thinning top loop. It was worn and loved!

I’ll second the Mother of Pearl Shell with either Ruby or Garnet eyes.
