Guess who''s going to propose.... ME!!!

My girl and I went to Jareds to look at some settings so we could get an idea of what she liked. She found one that she loves but I am thinking that it would be better to buy the diamond online.

Should I take her online purchased diamond to Jareds and get the setting, having them set the diamond there? Should I buy the whole ring (diamond and setting) online? Should I say screw Jareds and find another jewler?

I really dont know what to do, I''ve never purchased diamonds before.

Pros - I bought a scott kay ring from B&M and had them mount my online diamond. They didn''t charge for mounting because I bought the semi mount from them. It worked out great and what I like is that I can go to the B&M to get the ring cleaned and inspected at any time for nothing.

Cons - If I knew there were so many ring options online I may have skipped the B&M and saved even more $$.

is it a designer setting or even a setting you could get from an online vendor?

If the setting is somethng that is pretty standard and you could get it online, then I would do that. I have purchased settings from Jared, and they have been fine...they do really nice work with repairs and such, but I have also run into some problems with Jared as well.
