I have had a local estate diamond and ring, a G si1 .52ct center stone in a 3 stone ring I've been flirting with as my/our engagement ring, The price for the set was $1400.00 and I have been keeping tabs on it. I was ready to grab it and reset the center stone in one of the different 14-18K WG solitare settings I've found that we really like and then sell the setting to someone thru DB or Ebay. I called yesterday and it had sold just the day before. :errrr: So, now I'm free from the split decision of redoing this stone and such and can pick one of the BGD stones I've been watching and set it in one of these two settings:

and one other at a local jewelery consultant which is similar. I've tried to find some additional settings of this type but with little luck.

It will be a .48-.6ish Ct RB stone set in this.

any votes or suggestions on which setting. Price difference is about $300 for the ring in WG between the two

Sorry you missed out on the ring, but I know what you mean about feeling free. Things always have a way of working out for the best, so trust in that and you'll be happier with your choice in the long run. :))

I like the second setting best -- I think it's a bit more symmetrical, which just feels a bit more pleasing to my eyes.

I agree, the second one looks better quality to me, and it appears there are little diamonds in the head of the ring which is a nice accent. Plus, that one may be able to be worn with a straight band which I would prefer.

Both are pretty settings, but I prefer the second one a bit more. I love the diamond accents!

I like the first setting better. I'm not big on NSEW prongs. :(sad

any other like settings anyone?????????????????

I sorry but I'm not a fan of twisty settings. They never seem to look right with normal wedding bands. The Sholdt one is better imho as its symmetrical so less WB issues.

Have you seen the Sholdt twist? It may be over budget but it's really beautiful.

Out of the two choices, I prefer the first one. Also, a .60 carat center stone would be a great size! I know cause that's exactly what I have :D

I really like this one!

Out ofthe other two, I prefer the second setting.
