Me, on my vacation...jumping for joy in Santa Crauz, days before I went camping and failed at wakeboarding. Not just a small failure....but a crash and burn. I suffered a painful low back injury. It sucks. I have a whole new appreciation and empathy for those who suffer low back pain. It's no bueno.
Woooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo, Veda has officially become a 1-yr old. It was an awesome day. Although I set my back injury recovery back about 3 weeks, it was worth it. Veda is so adorable and all of my daughter's kids are so adorable. I saw new fathers sleeping on the picnic tables with their wife and 5-wk olds....and it was so sad when I asked them if they wanted a beer and they would look at me and say meekly "I don't drink" and plunk their heads back down. Ahahahahaha, I knew they were only "not drinking" because their wife couldn't drink. Poor guys. Anyway, everyone knows I get bored very quickly at adult parties...I prefer Kid/Adult parties. Kids never bore me and I like partying with the parents too. Because I was working most of the time, I only got a few pictures with my camera. I will have more when the daughter posts all of her photos. First up....the smash cake....
My favorite picture EVER!!!! The Classic Veda on the run photo with her scrunched up nose and silly grin.... I can't believe I got this one on camera. It's blown up on my wall at work so that people can try to drive me insane, but they cannot succeed. All I have to do is look at this face and I start to giggle and nobody can wreck my world.
I love this one too!! It was the only other usable photo taken with Veda on the Run. It looks easy...but kudos to people who take photos of these kids. It ain't easy!!
Thank you packrat and matata! I could just eat her up. Unfortunately, I can't even lift her right now. My back turned out not to just have been a muscle tear from the wakeboarding bodyplant like we thought. It turned out to be a compression fracture of my 2nd lumbar vertabrae, so I can't lift her for another 6-8 weeks. Here I was blissed out on Vicodin, NOT EVEN AWARE that I had a broken back. Duh.... but I love that I have a picture with her on her birthday. So much madness, that this is probably the only one.
