Hey there to all the experts out there!
First off, thanks to everyone who makes this message board so great! I have gone from asking jewelers "so what''s the deal with the cut of a stone?" to being asked by jewelers "How long have you been in the industry?." And I owe it all to you.
That said, I do still need some help. I had a ring custom made for a 1ct stone. The setting is nice, but the jeweler who made it for me never (after 7 weeks and 6 stones) found I diamond I liked. Now I''m looking online. I have seen some 1ct and also some 1.1ct diamonds I like and could afford. Now I have several questions:
1. Will a setting for 1ct stone hold 1.1ct?
2. How can I tell what size stone will fit in my setting or even if the setting was made to the right size for a 1ct?
3. What''s the best way to find a GOOD jewler in my area to set a stone I buy online?
