Melee diamonds

Hello
One of the small 1ct melée diamonds in my halo that surrounds my diamond chipped. Is that normal??? I slightly banged it against my car window and that did it. Has anyone else had this happen and also could it mean there is something wrong with the small diamonds?

Diamonds do chip even small melee. Guessing you hit it just the right way. Luckily they are inexpensive to replace. If your jeweler made your setting, he may do it for free. I know mine does. Best of luck!!

Thanks I guess I will bring it back to the jewler. It''s just aggrivating cause I know diamonds are supposed to be pretty hard.

They are hard, but hit the right way... well anything can happen. Let us know how it goes with your jeweler.

Hardness does not mean it cannot chip.
lots of hard stuff can chip, glass, porcelain, and ceramic.

That is a common misunderstanding.
