I noticed on dirtcheapdiamonds.com that you can easily see the measurements of diamonds in different size ranges.
This is very interesting, because I noticed that there are diamonds that have larger measurements, but are lower in carat weight. Does this mean that the diamond will "appear" larger to the naked eye?
I would like to get the most visual impact for my budget.
At what point does a diamond "look bigger?" .50 mm, 1.mm or different??
I tried on a 1.30 at one jeweler size 7.17mm ($7800, F, SI2)- looked like a chip - very small on hand. Then i tried on a 1.33 prem. cut at another jeweler and it looked so much bigger - it was a 7.20 ($7500, D colr SI1). I am not sure if that can be attributed to that tiny .mm difference or if it was the cut.....
Would love to hear commentary.
