Hi everyone,
I just wanted to add my story!!!
I am 29 years old and a native from the Phillipines. I came here when I was 3 1/2 years old and have lived in New York since coming here.
I have been married for 10 years to a NYPD sargeant and we have one beautiful little girl named Kayla, hence the screen name.
Last year we purchased our first house in Staten Island, NY.
I am a RN, I work at a hospital in Brooklyn, NY in the NICU. I work nights, to make it easier with the babysitting situation, but sometimes it gets really tough.
I found DT when I did a search for diamonds. I never got an engagement ring when I first got married and my husband said I could get whatever I wanted for our 10 year anniversary.
At first, I thought I would be happy with a 1.5 carat, but shrinkage set in and I wound up getting a 2 carat instead.
As far as my jewelry, I have the following, which is not much, but I feel lucky to have, A OMC e-ring and wedding band set, my new 2 carat H&A, a new 7 diamond anniversary band, a pair of .50 ctw diamond bezel stud earrings, a .65 ct. diamond bezel pendant, and 2 diamond bracelets, one diamonds by the yard and another diamond line bracelet.
I have some other jewelry, but that is what I wear all the time, not all at once though. Most of the time, I only wear two plain wedding bands and nothing else, not even a watch.
I am happy that I found PS and even though I have already purchased my diamond, I regularly visit to see what''s new.
I love to read stories about how everyone got engaged and I especially love all the eye candy.
I think the best part of PS is how well everyone seems to get along and how everyone seems to want to really help each other out.
Well, that''s all that I can think of, for now!!!

Here is a picture of me!!!

Ahhh Kayla, you are a raven-haired exotic sight for the eyes.

My older brother is married to a Phillipino and living in Bagio, P.I. He tells me there is no wife like a Phillipino wife!

He probably doesn't realize that the only thing better than a Phillipino wife is a Phillipino wife turbocharged by New York City energy.

Nice to make your acquaintance!

Thanks Rich,
You are so kind to say those nice things to me. Believe me, I am not a typical New Yorker. I have no energy(LOL). Most of the time, I sit at home reading a book and fall asleep on the couch after reading two pages. Currently, it's Lord of the Rings, but tomorrow, Who knows? The possibilities are endless.
From your posts, I think you must be such a blast to hang out with. If only I could get over that wierd growth coming out of your forehead and the drooling and the dragging leg....

OR was that Rhino?

Oh, my word, you are beautiful, Kayla! Rich surely said it well, but in my opinion it sometimes means more coming from another woman than from a man. (You know the woman has nothing to gain by telling you!!) Your eyes are simply incredible!

Oh geez, Kayla, you're gorgeous. Of course, when I first saw your picture my 2nd thought was "Wait until Richard Sherwood sees this!" And sure enough, there was his post!

I'm the one one the weird appendage, and Rhino's the drooling leg dragger.

That's what being a cut geek does to you. Makes you weird fast.

My kid's are always telling me that. "You're weird, Dad."

Kayla, you are quite beautiful. That said, I never met a Philipino women who wasn't a ball of fire. And, didn't have the wildest of men eating out of their hands.

You guys are too kind.
I feel so much better, after having my daughter 3 years ago, I never lost the baby fat that I gained, not much, just 10 pounds, but just that little bit makes such a difference.
It doesn't help that I work nights and sleep during the day either.
F&I, the only thing eating out of these hands is the wild dog that roams the neighborhood. LOL

I don't want to get technical but isn't the spelling different when describing someone from the Philippines... Filipino? I suppose you could also you "pinay" and "pinoy"
2.gif

hey Derek,
You are right, it is filipina or filipino. How do you know about that anyway? Are you pinoy?
By the way, I was the person that told you about the Lazare setting for your fiancee. My DT username is Elizabeth17. When you started searching for a Tiffany Knockoff, I posted a few settings that were similar and I guess you picked the Lazare one.

Although I've been known to enjoy pancit noodles, lumpia's, and Jollibee's, I am actually Chinese. Since I am also in the healthcare field, some of my friends and co-workers are Filipino. Thanks again (Elizabeth17) for all of your help in letting me know about the Lazare Tiffany setting.

I will be away from email for about a week - actually headed your way. So, I didn't want to post & run. I'll do my who's who when I return. I'm flattered your curious.

I'm flattered by your curiousity too.

Like fire&ice, I'm going to have to make you wait a bit. My arm is recovering from surgery, so anything I do with my hands takes three times as long. Sorry to keep you in suspense!

Kayla,

Thanks for sharing your story. You are indeed a very striking woman...

Nice to meet you..

Hello sorry to be so behind on my "Who's Who" readings. Today, I just decided that I wanted to read about everyone. I am not even half way done reading, but I thought I would post nonetheless. Beautiful picture of yourself. I am guessing that your husband and baby girl are just as beautiful as "mommy."

Yeah, I also enjoy the sense of humour that everyone on Pricescope has. I read a few Diamondtalk posts, saw all the advertising banners, and I just didn't feel like posting or reading as much on that other site. It sure doesn't have as much interesting people like this board, Pricescope, has. Oh, and I read the flogging of PK. Ouch! I hope I never get into a tongue twister taker backer position as she did.

I guess we could just help her out in the trials and tribulations of her life. She reminds me of a soap opera character. I'm sure you and Michelle or Seattle Mom could call her the "Young and the Restless." Hopefully, I'll never get on anyone's bad side, but the advice and humour given here seems to have kept everyone grounded for the most part. Don't know too much about that Richard Sherwood character.

Any more wild and crazy stories about him?

Please enlighten me...has he posted a bio on himself? Anyway, enjoyed reading your bio...please post more funny stories whether they are fictional or factual...it is a joy to read.

Congrats on your new little Kristina, she is beautiful, Butterfly and can''t wait for more pictures of your beautiful upgrade!!

Hey skippy! I thought this thread was long gone! I can''t believe it''s been almost 5 years since the last posting.

Thanks so much for congratulating me on our newest one. Now I have three K''s, Kayla Nicole, Kara Anne, and Kristina Marie, who should have been a Sophia Marie, but that''s a whole other story!

I didn''t post a new thread on the upgrade, but I will, I promise. I am just trying to settle in with the new baby, getting used to my daughter being back in school, etc.

Thanks again for being so positive!

Kristina is so precious!
Glad you are doing well.

I have some questions!

Do you plan on more children someday?

How often do you go back to the Phillipines?

What is your favorite book?

Kayla, hi!

Am I missing anything? Posts go from 2004 to 2008 with nothing from you updating, am I blind?

You are lovely and your birthday is my son''s birthday!

Hi everyone!!!

Sevens one,
Thanks! I don''t see you on here too much. If I keep this up, I will soon catch up with you.

OUpeargirl,
No, I don''t think I want anymore. It''s really hard with three and I can''t really afford to be a stay at home mom, and my husband will be retiring soon, less than 2 years, and we don''t want to start changing diapers all over again. If one comes along though, it would be considered a blessing.
I have not been back to the Phil since I was 18. I would eventually like to go back, but it seems life goes on and time flies by, plus my entire family is here for the most part. Only my grandmother and grandfather live there, but they are currently here in NY until Nov. and they come here once a year for a few months at a time, so I get to see everyone. I would love to go back though to eat the food and see the country itself.
My favorite book, hmmm, I don''t have one, I am currently reading three books simultaneously, when I can actually, The Book of the Dead, First they killed my Father, and Grisingr (part of the Eragon trilogy). I love all kinds of books but lately I can''t finish a book, I will skip over to the back to read the ending!

Diamondfan,
no, you are definitely not blind, I am just lazy, for lack of a better word, and kind of feel funny updating my own thread. I am so not an attention getter and the more I respond, the more people will read and then it becomes a never ending story and then there''s my picture. Not sure why I decided to post a picture of myself and then all those comments about me being pretty. So not my intention, but now when I read them, I am embarassed that I put up my picture.

So, that''s why I have not updated for 4 years. Although, I have little updates in separate threads like when my daughter Kara was born in 2005 and in the PS mommies thread I posted about the birth of Kristina.

That''s nice that your son has the same b-day as me, I have never met anyone with my birthdate.

I recognize your new avatar now, but when I saw your thread it was the old one?! Yikes, I am losing it!~
