I would like to offer my sincere thanks to the many knowledgeable individuals who contribute to the Pricescope forums. For an inexperienced diamond buyer like myself, the information I was able to access was invaluable to my final decision. This leads me to my next thank you.
After visiting "specialty" diamond stores and mall jewelers I was continually frustrated with the treatment I was given, as well as the astronomical mark-up on prefabricated rings. Therefore, after reading a number of posts on Pricescope about purchasing loose stones via the Internet, I contacted Martin Sheffield at Independent Gemmological Services Incorporated. Beginning with our first conversation, Martin established a rapport, which was both professional and sincere. He asked what I was looking for and we set up an appointment to view some diamonds he thought would fit my criteria. Martin’s expertise on diamonds and diamond buying was evident and he recommended a beautiful diamond, which suited my price range. In fact, the diamond he recommended was smaller and less expensive than the other diamonds we viewed together. This small detail showed to me that Martin understands and values the quality of a diamond over the size and price. This is a characteristic that seemed to be absent in my interactions with other jewelry stores. A quality that led me to purchase the diamond with confidence.
Upon purchasing the diamond, Martin referred me to Simon Bonin who I met with to discuss the setting for the ring. Simon was also very professional and sincere and I showed him some photographs of settings my fiancée had shown interest in. Simon kept in regular contact with me regarding the progress of the ring and on the morning of my graduation day from University I picked it up. I was planning to propose to my girlfriend of five years after my graduation ceremony and was so pleased when I picked up the ring at Simon’s office. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was exceptional. The ring was truly custom made and therefore a one of a kind piece of jewelry. The diamond looked amazing in the setting and Simon even included a beautiful wooden jewelry box, which accented the beauty of both the diamond and the ring. We will no doubt be visiting Simon again to have him create our wedding rings.
My entire experience with both Martin Sheffield and Simon Bonin has been one that has reaffirmed my beliefs in quality customer service and craftsmanship. My girlfriend loves the ring, which makes the whole experience that much more satisfying. Thanks Martin and Simon! I highly recommend you to anyone who values professionalism and quality.

Yours truly

Christopher Stevens

Ehy does the forum administator allow these types of posts. They are obviously fabricated. How stupid to the authors think we are.

Why would you assume this Greatcall? This person obviously had a really good experience and wanted to share his story. These forums are filled with happy people who have purchased from online vendors. I was referred to Martin from a PS member, and I too loved the experience. I would agree with everything this poster said about Martin. As soon as I get my ring from my bf, I''ll be coming on here proudly with our story and pics! If you get exceptional service, you will recommend it to others.

I thought Toph''s account of his experience was well written and sincere. What specifically screams "fabricated" to you? This is not a flame, just wanting to know your thoughts on what''s not sitting quite right about Toph''s post?

Greatcall:

In reference to your posting. I have reviewed all of your posts from the past year or so and notice much skepticism and insinuations in your comments concerning people and their experiences with American vendors, particularly on Pricescope.

I think you should leave it up to the consumers to genuinely post their experiences and if you have nothing good to add don''t chime in. I have a feeling you yourself are a Canadian vendor, or someone who is board with not much time on their hands trying to bash American consumers.

LEONID CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS GUY?

It is rare that I check this site as we are now looking at wedding planning sites, however, as a wedding gift I am considering diamond earrings. I was shocked and disappointed that my post was perceived as insincere. I guess that is my own online ignorance. My experience with both Simon and Martin was so comforting that I felt that I should share it for the benefit of other people. I am a teacher in Durham Region and if you care to discuss things further my email address is [email protected]

Topher

Hm... there are many posts like this. I guess sellers cannot write about their own fare, but buyers can and certainly do - the whole forum is made of just this matter

I''m with Ana--How about some pics?

I would love to show the a pic, however, I need a quick lesson on the best way to take a picture and how to post it.

regards,

Topher
