Hi All,
First post here. I'd like to say thank you for all of your wisdom and recommendations.
I made my purchase from JamesAllen.com and have received it yesterday. (they were very pleasing to work with btw).
Long story short..
I took the stone to a trusted jeweler because they wanted to see the stone before creating the setting.
As we wait, I asked them to show me the GIA number.
After they found the GIA number, they asked if I mind them marking it because it can be time consuming to find, and they have to expose the GIA tag when they set it.
I said no I don't mind. (should've said yes
)
then... they dotted the diamond with a marker to show them where the GIA tag is.
now my diamond has a black marker dot and I am feeling uncomfortable about it.
Question for you experts out there:
Is this OKAY? will this marker dot harm the diamond? or will it leave some kind of stains?
