Hi there! I have a stone a bit over a carat to be set. I like the MM Flame (I wonder does it come in 4 prong??) or the Vatche Comfort Fit Royal X Prong or the Whitflash W prong...I also found a coupl eof interesting ones too...I just want to maximize the size of the stone and highlight its beauty...ok thanks! I hope the pics attach!

oh my gosh how come i can not upload pics??? i have downsized the pic but still nuttin!!!!!!! help

Mark will make a 4 prong ring similar to the Flame, but you''ll have to go custom to do that.

I just saw the Flame, the Vatche Swan, and the Sisily(sp?), and they were all beautiful. The two Vatche settings held the stone up a little higher than the Flame and really put the diamond on display. The shank of the Swan was very delicate,so was the Flame. The Sisily was wider. I also saw the Vatche Royal Crown and it was beautiful too-but a little wider than the other three settings. My favs were the Flame and the Swan.

I would go with Mark.

Oops...a couple of the pics are bmp..not sure how to convert tp jpeg! so totally computer illiterate! I have not seen the Vatche Swan...I saw that GOG carried Mark Morrell...would they do the 4 prong in house or do they send it to him? does anyone know the price range? i wish i had the imagination to really make something creative and different..

Where did you see these?

GOG would send your stone to Mark, and they would make the setting to fit your stone. I''m not sure of the price, but I am thinking in the $1700-2000 range or thereabouts.

Yes, here is a picture another PriceScope person took for me of that setting:

Yes, once upon a time, it was one of my top contenders. It is really hard to decide on a solitaire with so many beautiful choices!

oh that is pretty! i am just so nervous about 4 prongs...but i really like the look..i showed my huby avril levines wedding set and he was like yeah of course you like it it has a 4 carat stone in there! haha! he always wanted to get me a large stone, but being a military man we are doing what we can...so i have about a carat stone to set...here is another pic i like:

I wore a 4-prong e-ring for 13 years with no problems at all. I prefer the look to 6-prong, and just got another 4-prong setting for my upgrade. If you have a "normal" size stone, it should not be a problem at all (I''m not sure I''d do, like, a 5 carat stone with a 4-prong). Just have a jeweler clean it every 6 months or so and ask them to check the prongs when they do. Inspect the prongs yourself and make sure they''re all okay. Seriously, I got my ring when I was 19, and I banged it all over the place, I was constantly knocking it into things, the prongs never budged. Get a reputable jeweler to set your ring, you''ll be fine with 4 prongs.
