Hey everyone,

So I recently got engaged and now have the fun task of designing and picking out our wedding rings! I designed and bought her e-ring through Eternity by Yoni and couldnt have been happier about how it came out and the whole process. (I'll be doing a review for him on here soon I'll post a link that'll include pictures of the e-ring too). Anyways.... now I'm trying to pick out what I want for a wedding ring myself - aka my turn to have fun and get some bling.

I've always loved the OEC /August Vintage looking stones and want a band that doesn't seem too effeminate. I want to follow something along these lines: a larger center, main stone with channel set rounds flanking it on either side. I like the shape of the second band with it's tapered/angled sides.

The main stone I'm thinking as a .25 to .33 carat OEC/AV cut, with the channel stones being normal rounds.
I would like the main stone to sit more flush to the surface then being recessed so much, something like below:

What Im wondering is 1) if anyone knows a good place to have a design like this made (I saw a stone that fit the size at GOG but not sure if they do settings) 2) a rough idea of what a setting such as this in 14k white gold would cost 3) Opinions or tweaks on the design style.

I would like to be able to procure the main stone at the same place Im having them make the ring for logistics sake, but if i have to use multiple vendors I will. Which is why I havent settled on going straight back to Yoni for my ring, I will be using them for my fiancee's wedding band to match her e-ring.

A quick photo from the proposal photoshoot when I asked her to marry me, all I have of the ring on my computer at the moment.

Thanks everyone! - JR

Something along the lines of this, centered though and not squared off....

Have you considered a tension setting?
They are quite substantial.

More guys are wearing them as they are a more masculine-looking way of wearing a diamond.
They come in gold, platinum, titanium and cobalt chrome.

You don't have to get a diamond this large if that's not your thing.

I've been lurking on the other threads of men's rings and love how those rings look, but for some reason Im not a fan of the tension setting for myself. I'm too worried of the diamond getting knocked loose (even if you told me it was impossible haha still would feel that way) and also like the look of a solid finished band. It was a possible option at one point until fiancee also x'ed it on me also since she didnt like it either. But I appreciate the suggestion!

No problem.
Good luck in your diamond ring safari.
Enjoy the hunt.

Anyone any with any feedback on looks/ any tweeks? Also anyone know about GOG or a possible place to have this done where I could also get the stone?

Ask Lynda of GOG. If memory serves, she deals with settings at GOG. She will be able to tell you if there are such stock settings or recommend others.

Alternatively, look through Stuller, Adwar and Unique Settings.

I think the ring will need to be custom made, but I am not aware if GOG's bench has made a ring similar to this. I think it is a great idea to have an AVR in the center, but I am not sure about the contrast of full cut melee for the strip of stones. I might would rather have single cuts there. I would advise you to try to select one ring picture closest to what you want and then describe the changes.

Thanks for the replies! - I know the ring will need to be custom made, no doubt about that. I just wasnt sure if GOG custom makes rings or not (still need to contact them). As for design I want it to look like this with the main stone and side stones

but centered, not squared off, and tapered on the sides like this:

Diamond seeker what do you mean by single cut versus the full cut melee? Are you talking about a step cut like a baguette?
