Makeup and Hair Help (So Cal brides)

Hello everyone,
I am desperately trying to find someone to come out to our location and do my hair and make up for me, my two bridesmaids and my mom for my wedding. Every place I have looked has been around $400-$600 dollars. Is this normal? For any of you ladies in the Southern California area, is there anyone that you would recommend that is not too expensive? Please help. I am getting married in May and want to book someone before it is too late...

Yes, that is normal.

Wait, $400-600 for all four of you? Not each person? No, that is not normal - it's CHEAP.

If you are going to go cheaper you WILL lose quality of work. I ended up going to a salon for the hair and DIYing my makeup (my usual girl was on preggo leave) to save cash. We paid $410 for three people, hair only (2 updos and a blowout), and I was relieved at how cheap that was... to be clear, that's without travel and makeup and one less person than you have.

Sorry I can't be of more help... I suggest projectwedding for reviews or hair/makeup artists but I honestly don't think you'll find someone of good quality for the price and services combo that you want, unless they happen to be a prodigy just starting out... sorry...


ETA: To be fair I only looked in/around the LA/SFV/OC area, so people may be cheaper outside of that bubble.

$600 for all 4 of you is not bad! I had a service that specializes in wedding day hair and makeup travel to us to get us ready on the big day. It was $300 for me for both hair and makeup, and $150 for bridesmaids for both. This cost included traveling to us, and they sent two girls. It was more expensive than some of the other places I looked at, but not by too much. The standard price seemed to be about $75 for hair and $50-$75 for makeup. I was really pleased with the work, and having them come to us made it really stress free. By the way, I used Hair Comes the Bride, if you want to check them out online.
