lvnut,

I know you're a lady of exquisite tastes, that HUGE 4ct halo'ed white diamond, the LOVELY YUMMY heart-shaped yellow ring and numerous other AMAZING RHR's, not to mention several other gorgeous jewellery pieces.

I also know you're a very brave and strong lady, not to mention kind-hearted and considerate.

Oh yes, and yr screen-name, you must have an impressive collection of LV's. Would love to see what you have there, from one lvnut to another!

Pls feel free, whenever you feel up to it, to share more with us. If, however, you'd rather not - due to privacy reasons - I'd totally understand

Phoenix -

How sweet of you to inquire about me! I am honored especially since I have lurked for so long before getting "brave" enough to post. It''s funny how I am kind of shy on the internet, but in my real life I am not shy at all!

I wondered if anyone had figured out what the lvnut was about and you hit the nail on the head! I will take some photos, but would love to see your LV''s as well!

I have loved jewelry all of my life. I am an only child of divorced parents and was very close to my next door neighbor (her name was Sharon) and she was more like a big sister to me - 12 years older. Grew up with my grandmother, mother, and aunt who is only 11 years older than me. Sharon and my aunt were also very close. The only male was the dog!

As a little girl, Sharon was a very big part of my life. She was the one who taught me about diamonds when she got engaged (I was only about 6 at the time). When she first started dating her future husband, he had just bought a brand new Corvette (way back in 1969). Sharon was the sweetest person you could ever meet and she just made such a large impact on my life. In a lot of ways, I am more like Sharon than my family. No one in my family has the jewelry or car passion that I do.

She also had the unique ability to make everyone feel special and I try to do that in my life as well!

I am 44 years old and have been married to my second husband (the only one who really counts!) for 17 years. We have a lot in common and it''s nice to have found someone who shares the same passions as I do. He considers himself lucky to have married a woman that he actually calls a "car guy!" I am also fortunate that he indulges me with jewelry although I certainly treat myself as well. I just let him handle the more expensive stuff! We both have lost parents at a young age so we try to enjoy life and if we want something and we can afford it then we just do it! You only live once.

I am also a breast cancer survivor (you may have also seen on my other post that I just had surgery Thursday that was more reconstruction). It has been a long journey (four years), but I am still here! While I am unable to volunteer at the hospital where I had my surgery, I do whatever I can for breast cancer patients. My doctor''s office (both breast cancer surgeon and reconstruction surgeon) know that if a patient needs to talk to someone who has been through what they are about to go through that I am there for them.

One other thing that has had a big impact on my life recently is that my friend Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer 11 months after me. Unfortunately, it was caught too late and she died last March. That has been very, very hard for me to lose someone who was so important to my life and "making me who I am."

Obviously, there''s lots more, please feel free to ask me anything else, but I don''t want to bore anyone! This has been a nice little "task" to do while I am recovering and it''s keeping me from lifting things and doing things I shouldn''t be doing!

Thanks again for your interest in my story!

lvnut,

Thanks for writing such a poignant post about yourself and yr loved ones.

I'm glad you came out of lurkdom to join us! I enjoyed reading yr previous posts tremendously and you immediately stood out. I guess it's your honest, sincere and caring way. I also read about your posts on yr breast cancer and subsequent surgery. Friends of my family as well as family members of my SIL (whom I'm very close to) died early (in their thirties) from cancer so it's one of the causes I support and care about hugely. You've been a very brave and strong woman and I have tremendous respect for you. I'm very sorry about yr friend Sharon. I'm relieved for you that you've caught yours earlier on. I'm always harping on my girlfriends about getting check-ups. I have one friend who's never been to a gynae and who's never had her breasts professionally checked. Annother one finally listened to me and found some polyps in her uterus and had them removed before they became cancerous. Thank God!

It's great that Sharon introduced you to diamonds. What was the first diamond that you saw/ that made an impression on you? Was it Sharon's ering? What was the first diamond that you bought/ was given to you?

I love that you love beautiful cars too. I LOVE Corvettes and lots of other sports cars but I think if we were to purchase such an expensive car and someone scratched it, we'd prob faint!

Your husband sounds awesome. He sounds like your soul-mate. Where did you two meet? If you don't mind sharing, that is. It's so sweet that he wants to buy you the more expensive pieces. Good for him!

I wish I could talk my husband into sharing this bling passion with me, but at best my DH tolerates it and usually rolls his eyes when I talk about it!

Would love to hear more abt you. What are your other passions in life? Do you like travelling and if so, what countries have you been to and which do you like best? Do you like to read and if so, what? What are yr fave foods and drinks? Do you like pets?

Oh, and I have my own LV thread. Here you go:

Look forward to hearing more abt you. It's far from boring!

In the meantime, rest well.

Phoenix, I''m glad you started this thread. LV, I''ve wanted to know more about you too, since I found out we both share a love for Bengal cats!

Phoenix -

I checked out your LV thread - you have some beautiful pieces! I love that you have a Suhali - I also have one! It''s Le Talentueux and mine is also white. We jokingly call it "the mastectomy purse" because I was so distraught when I found out I needed a mastectomy my husband asked if I would feel better if we went to Louis Vuitton and he would buy me a purse. I said I thought it might help. Poor guy, I had originally wanted a white multicolor one and he knew what that one cost. Then I saw the Suhali and there was no turning back! I will take photos of all my LV stuff and post them.

Actually, even though Sharon taught me about diamonds, I really just loved sparkly things and rocks, geodes and stuff like that as a little girl. My grandmother also would buy me little fake rings at the department store so I think I was just born to love diamonds! I remember one "ruby and diamond" ring that my grandmother bought me and I lost it while I was helping Sharon rake the leaves in her back yard. She knew it wasn''t real (of course!) but because I thought it was real (silly little girl!) we went through about five bags of leaves looking for it! No one other than Sharon would have done that for me! And, of course, we didn''t find it.

But I think you''re right, it was her e-ring and the fact that she taught me about carat weight, etc. that really got me going.

Since she was also responsible for the car interest whenever we were hanging out I used to say I''m surprised my husband even liked her since she got me hooked on some fairly expensive hobbies! I was only kidding, because she truly was a wonderful person and all you had to do was meet her once and you''d just love her!

Even as we got older and we''d be at a car event or at the doctor''s office (she used my surgeon also) she would tell people all about me and how she remembered waiting on the front porch for my Mom to bring me "home" after the divorce. I was two then. She always called me "the little girl next door" and every time I saw her she would say to me "you''re my little love!" She also loved to tell people that she got me started with Corvettes and diamonds. She would also tell them "She wanted a Corvette and a big diamond and look she got them both!" She was as proud of me as if I was her daughter - and she had three! Sorry - I am rambling about her again - seems I do it a lot!

I met my husband at work. Funny how many people in that office ended up getting married! I think it was about four or five different couples over the years.

He didn''t know anything about diamonds until he went to buy my diamond. Now he knows a lot and I swear he has the eyes of Harry Winston! He can spot a flaw a mile away! He was actually a little irritated when I bought the earrings last week and he asked me if I louped them and I told him no! I don''t feel too bad about my jewelry hobby because he really loves watches.

We''re both a little nutty about the cars - I''m with you on the scratches! I park very far away in an end parking space - only one spot though because I think it''s inconsiderate when people take two spots and I just won''t do it! Can always use a little exercise anyway!

Like BEG mentioned - I am a cat lover. Especially my adorable Bengal kittens! I know BEG is anxiously awaiting her new arrivals. Even though they are still small they have figured out how to open our doors (they''re lever handle doors) which now makes keeping them out of trouble a lot harder! Imagine trying to put on makeup, with one in your lap and the other knocking things over or messing with the blinds! But I wouldn''t trade them for the world.

Boy, I have really rattled on, but I need to finish getting ready to go out for dinner with my husband.

Again thanks for your interest and I will post some more tomorrow!

Thanks for sharing your story lvnut. You are one strong woman!

Wow, that's soooo interesting!

Sharon must have been one very lovely lady. I'd really have loved to have met her. I'm sure she was loved by everyone who knew her.

I have tremendous respect for you too, lvnut. I have know it must have been hard for you to decide to have the masectomy but you've done it and got rid of the cancer. That's the most important thing. One of my SIL's (on my husband's side) has had one too and looking at her, you'd never have guessed she had cancer. She's a picture of health, pretty, lively and full of life. You know, I think you and my SIL are fighters. You're both very strong women and you have a positive attitude. I suspect that Sharon must have been a major force in shaping who you are, as a woman and as a person. I believe how you (the generic you) are is a result of those who have brought you up. You also say that Sharon had a way of making other people feel special and I think that really shows in you, in the way that you write in yr threads. You're very considerate and kind and it really shows.

LOVE that story abt your "ruby and diamond" ring. That's soooo sweet, but of coure I'm sorry you lost it. So what was the first diamond that you purchased/ were given that you really really loved? What shapes do you like best? I'm guessing RB but then again you have lovely RHR's in different shapes. What other colour diamonds do you like and do you have anything on yr wish-list? Or any other ongoing projects?

...not that I'm enabling...well, maybe a little bit!!

Would love to see pics of your furry babies. They sound adorable and I bet they're just as gorgeous as BEG's little ones. I don't know if you know but we have a cat too, her name is Pumpkin. What are yr little babies called? It's really interesting, there are sooooo many cat lovers on this board. I wonder if there's some sort of correlation between the love of bling and the love of cats?!

lvnut, I'm still waiting to hear about your other interests, likes and dislikes. Do you like travelling? Do you live in a warmer climate (you don't have to tell us where it is)? I'm guessing because you always seem to have a lovely tan. Do you and/ or yr husband cook? Do you like eating out? What's yr fave cuisine?

You said in the other thread that you're about the same frame as me, albeit one and a half inches taller. You know, don't you, that one and a half really count!!

. I bet you look nice in clothes. What clothes do you like? Are you a shoes person too? What do you like?

Looking forward to seeing yr LV thread too.

Oh btw, thanks for posting infor about yr halo'ed diamond ring. Did it really cure yr DSS? I'm seriously considering it. Will have to wait until I get back to Singapore first. In the meantime, i'll live vicariously through you
