Lunch bill: $12 if you're Black, $30 if you're white

Based on the premise of informed choice involved, I would pay the $30.

The data collection part is over now but I’d pay $30 just because that meal sounds amazing and healthy and right up my alley food-wise.

Another disparity between blacks and whites is our levels of access to healthy food. You won’t find a Whole Foods in lower SES areas. You will find a prevalence of diabetes, however. I watched a documentary on this and can’t remember what it was called but it’s pretty upsetting. How are blacks and whites similar? We all need healthy food to survive and thrive as long as our bodies were intended to. This social experiment ties in perfectly with human needs and creating awareness and generating discussion and hopefully change.

Monnie you might find this interesting. Unbelievable isn't it?

It's a long read but worthwhile. Here is a snip.

The disproportionate distribution of food sources that contributes to the development of unhealthy behaviors among these communities and the consequent disease burden deeply affect not only individuals and families, but also society as a whole. Environmental justice will be achieved, says the Environmental Protection Agency, when everyone enjoys the same degree of protection from environmental and health hazards and equal access to the decision-making process to have a healthy environment in which to live, learn, and work.
