i always had a thing for the tiffany lucida, until i tried it on and realised the rectangular version suits me better. My partner and I had considered purchasing a lucida from tiffany''s because getting a decent repro of it seemed almost as expensive as the real thing.

However now that i look at the rectangular lucida, i wonder if it isnt just a slightly elongated cushion? Are the pics deceiving me or is this correct? It just seems like maybe it wouldnt be so hard to replicate as the regular lucida?

I believe that the lucida is a patented cut just for Tiffany''s so no, a rectangular cushion will not look exactly like the lucida. You could find stones that will kinda look similar but not exact. If it''s the faceting of the lucida stone that you are taken with then you''ll have to stick with Tiffany''s.

Mrs. S is right.

shame. i tried it on a little while ago but remembering it now i cant help feeling it looked like a friend of mine''s who has long-ish cushion! sigh. i think EC it is then, so its not all bad

The lucida is closer to a radiant, or square radiant is you like the square shape.

The cool thing about the Lucida (square or rectangular) is that it combines a step-cut crown with a brilliant-cut pavilion. You won''t find that in a cushion. That said, I prefer the square Lucida over the rectangular hands down. If you were interested in the square, I''d suggest the Lucere cut, which is basically a copy of the Lucida, but without the Tiffany premium. However, I don''t think Lucere cuts any rectangles.

I LOVE the Lucida!

Not sure what size you''re looking for but there''s a Lucida on Signed Pieces right now.
