My stone became loose in its setting today. I don''t know whether to send back to Leon or take it somewhere local? Has this happened to any Leon owners?

Oh no

I have no idea. I am certain Leon owners will chime in soon. Good Luck

I would call him in the morning and ask him directly. But if it were me, I don''t know that I''d want anyone but him to touch it. Good luck!

i agree with calling and asking Leon, but I''d probably only want Leon''s crew to be the one''s to fix it if it were me.

Let us know what he says. I would think that could be done locally since it does not involve altering the setting, but I''ll be curious to see what he says.

Forthitto? LOL

I talked to Leon on Friday and he said I can take it to any jeweler. I am kind of nervous to trust just anyone, but since he said it is okay I am going to take it in locally. He also said that if I want I can send it in to his store and he will fix it for free.

I think I''d send it to him to fix unless you know someone locally you can really trust.

Thanks for the reply marcyc. I am still debating. I really don''t know anyone locally, I was just going to take it to Rogers and Hollands at the mall. If I decide to send it will take at least 2 weeks. Since I have to send USPS and it takes almost 1 week to get to his shop.

Honestly I''d send it to Leon. He''ll fix it for free, and you''ll have it back in no time. Worth it to me, especially if you don''t have a local jeweler you trust. Best of luck Lucy.

I wouldn''t let anyone but Leon work on it. He''s the one that''s familiar with those gorgeous prongs, and a jeweler would have to work with them a bit to tighten the stone.

Send it to Leon.

okay, i''ll send it to Leon first thing in the morning

This is interesting. Do you have any idea how it came so loose? I have wondered what I will do if I lose a stone, etc with my Leon (when I get it). I kinda told myself that bc of the cost of shipping it back to him I would probably let someone else do simple work on it, but nothing involving the pave. Do you live close enough that the shipping isn't an issue?

Hi CrookedRock- the stone actually became loose when I was cleaning it. I think I jammed the brush to hard and I heard it kind of pop out of the basket setting. I can hear it jiggling in the setting and can turn it slightly. I think the shipping will cost me around $40 and I am not sure how much Leon will charge to have it shipped back to me. I will definetly be a lot more gentle when I clean the ring in the future.

Good luck!

LucyH, i''m sorry you''re vigorous cleaning loosened ur stone! perhaps it was slightly loose already ? I think thats the best idea to send it to Leon - I know from experience its difficult when you don''t have a trusted jeweler locally..
I hope you get it back asap!

Awww... That''s a shame! All you wanted to do was make it sparkle more!!!

You must be close to the city, bc that is cheap shipping. But all the more reason to send it to him. It will probably cost you that both ways, but at least you have the peace of mind that he is working on it. Good Luck!
