Not sure about this one. What is the difference between the light leaking blue and black color on the ASET photos. Can I do better? Any help is as always greatly appreciated. I will mention my budget is 6k and I am sensative to color. I think I can do better but I do not want to feel like I am wasting anyones time! Thank you in advance

Re: Opinion on this diamond? pictures included

I'm not an emerald expert but I think its a very pretty stone. Blue isn't leakage. Its been
Reflected a few times so I believe its not as bright. Some contrast is good.

Blue is obstruction. But it is needed for contrast so it's not all bad. I think the stone is a nice one.

even if you are sensitive to color you can safely go down to F without a second thought.

The only thing I'm not liking is it's a bit squat so it's kinda small, IMO.

I think you can easily get a nice stone over 1 carat and I think you should shoot for that.

I would not be working with WF for an EC. They find OK fancies. But they aren't really known for it, and for good reason.

I would be working with Good Old Gold or Engagement Rings direct if I were you.

I'd ask for:

DEF color
VS2 or better clarity
1.3 to 1.5 length or width ratio
At least 1 carat

Best performing stone for your budget of 6K.

Thank you for the information. Looking is an overwhelming process.

I felt the same! PS is a great place to start-I went with GOG so they could pick stones that fell within my parameters. It was great working with them and they found me something that was just right....good luck in your search!

Thank you for your words of support

Jamiesue:

Last year I went with an emerald cut that was actually H color, and it still looks fantastic. I was concerned about color as well, but after seeing tons of stones, it still held up against all of them. The people here were a terrific help. hang in there...
