I just contacted my insurance company (USAA) and they told me I don''t even need an appraisal, just a bill of sale with description because of the value of the engagement ring/wedding band set. Though the purchase value is close to where they WOULD require an appraisal. Even though I purchased from WF, I still perfer to get an independant report for personal satisfaction and insurance. USAA told me the appraiser had to be certified by either AGS or GIA.
With thousands of merchants in NYC I''m sure I won''t have a problem finding someone to do an appraisal, but I thought I''d ask here to see if someone could suggest someone in NYC who does good work and is competitively priced.
Is it worth it to appraise the entire set of stone,setting, wedding band? The setting and band are both Harmonies (about 2K each).
