Hello,

I am in is search of a e-ring that incorporates sapphires around the diamond. It could be a 3-stone band, channel-set, or pave. I found some examples on Blue Nile and James Allan but having difficulties locating these on other sites. Can anyone point me to other retailers that carry these styles. Also, how common are these in B&M jewelers?

Thank you in advance.

Are you buying for yourself or for your lady? What is your budget and do you have any metal preferences?

Its for my lady. Metal is least important preference. My ideal ring would be the following:

18K White Gold
Carat: .6 - .75
Cut: Very Good
Color: No worse than I

If I could find this for $1500 I would be very happy. I think I may be low balling the value. Feedback on that would be appreciated as well.

I would like it to be enhanced with sapphires since my lady actually prefers that gem as opposed to a diamond. But I feel there needs to be a diamond in the traditional e-ring type of way.

Thank you so much for any help. This is a pretty nerve racking process.

I think you should STRONGLY consider a sapphire center stone for your budget-- with diamonds as the sidestones. It will be beautiful and give you the most bang, plus she will love it.

If you want a Diamond Center are you okay with preowned and um... I don't think your budget is going to be likely. For old cuts, you would need about 2000. And ideally if you can afford 3500 about that's where you budget needs to be for retail.

Can you save up for a while or just propose with a temporary setting and a nice diamond and save up for a setting she loves and pick out the reset together later?

Your budget is way more doable if you have a sapphire ering vs. a diamond ering. And honestly if that is what your lady likes then I would skip the diamond and get the ring that is more her style and perference. If you are on the fense then go look at the colored stone forum. Many PSers have sapphire erings and RHR that are gorgeous. Perhaps this will make you feel more at ease about a CS purchase.

Also, I believe someone is selling sapphire rings with diamond accents on the pre-owned forum which are well within your price range if you want to check that out as well.

Goodluck with whatever you decide!

Other option (and the one I recommend) Simply Sapphires which is considered one of the best vendors for sapphires is having a 35% off sale for the next three days.

I would buy this sapphire. It's GORGEOUS and the cutting is incredible AND it's certified: http://www.simplysapphires.com/html/imagesblue2006/bluerns122a-sm.html About 600 dollars. AND it is the same size as a one carat diamond.

And I would put it into one of these two settings:

She, or ANY woman, would be thrilled. If Prince William and Prince Charles can get engaged with sapphire center stones, you certainly can! And it's what your lady wants--- which is the most important thing.

That Lily split shank is gorgeous! But it's a lab created sapphire not a real one. He can get a real one for his budget.

Especially with the 35% off sale right now at Simply Sapphires!

Another place you could look for a saphire e-ring would be www.etsy.com

good luck

Ruby Lane is another good place. The vendors are regulated and usually the pictures and product descriptions are good.

I'll post some options:

http://www.rubylane.com/item/635099-R-347-FT/Gorgeous-Vintage-Filigree-Sapphire-Diamond

Sapphire is too dark IMO but it's a nice piece as a whole: http://www.rubylane.com/item/381215-0567/Classic-Sapphire-Diamond-ring-14k

BEAUTIFUL! But I would make sure it's a natural and not synthetic or lab sapphire http://www.rubylane.com/item/445734-Ant-SapEueoDia-14KRing/Antique-Faceted-Sapphire-European-Cut

Out of budget but I don't know if you have budget flexibility so I'll post them:

I appreciate all the help so far. I am now considering a sapphire ring as the center stone but I would still prefer the diamond as the center stone.

I found the ideal ring on Blue Nile but it was $2000. It seems $1500 may be out of reach. I will continue looking but can anyone recommend more sources for rings with sapphire side stones? I have still only found it on Blue Nile and James Allan.

Can you show us the ring you liked on Blue Nile just to know what you are aiming for? I will have to say that $1500 is unlikely for a new ring with a decent center diamond at a half carat. Gold prices are high now, so settings are high, and diamond prices have gone up like crazy this year, unfortunately.

hi there,

How is it going now?

I am also hunting for something of similar budget.
It is probably a blue sapphire centre with split shank.

Oh how I lust after those from mc2jewels!!!
