Hey,

Im searching for a diamond with the following:

1) Color D-F/G
2) Symmetry- Excellent
3) Polish- Excellent
4) Weight .9- 1.2 carats
5) Cut- Ideal
6) Price - $10,000 or less
7) Clarity- IF-VVS2/ VSI

I would really like to buy a diamond that sparkles like no other. I do not consider myself an expert by any means..though i have done a little homework..

I really hope someone can assist me in my search..

Many thanks..

My apologies...

I am looking for an Ideal Princess Cut diamond..

Hi Idealring!

Unfortunately, I don''t know much about Princess cut diamonds, however, I do know that Whiteflash carries "A Cut Above" Princess cut diamonds, which are touted to be well cut, thus the "A Cut Above" branding or designation ...

I thought that you might be interested in this one as it falls within your listed criteria and looks delicious.

Good luck with your search.

Here's one from Goodoldgold.com

AGS ideal cut 1.2 G VS1

http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/2418/

If you go down just a little on clarity--the prices are a little better. A VS1 will be excellent on eyecleanliness.

Good Luck in your search!

Hey,

Thank you for your quick replies!

I have been looking at the link from WF and the gold site..

I have also found the following at Blue Nile:

1) http://www.bluenile.ca/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=btntext_viewselect&elem=img&pid=LD01236696&filter_id=0

2) http://www.bluenile.ca/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=btntext_viewselect&elem=img&pid=LD01225691&filter_id=0

3) http://www.bluenile.ca/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=btntext_viewselect&elem=img&pid=LD01224301&filter_id=0

I realize that # 3 is a poor color grade, but the other specs look great.

I know that BN does not provide an Ideal Scope image, but based on the information they provide, these options look pretty good as well.

Im also not too sure how the Blue Nile "Blue Nile Signature Ideal" cut compares to the "A Cut Above"?

should i be looking into anything else? I really am looking for a superb ring for my lady :)

You could easily lower your clarity to the VS2-SI1 range and still have a very eye clean diamond and either save some $$ or go bigger. Clarity doesn''t affect sparkle very much and many SI2''s are even eye clean. I think the ACA princesses from WF are a good suggestion and looking at AGS0 princesses is a good way to start too.

If you really want a stone that sparkles like none other, a ideal cut round or a square hearts and arrows would be visibly quite a bit more sparkly. However, many just prefer the look of a princess and that''s fine too. I just want to make sure you are aware that other shapes sparkle more if that is your top priority.

I have never heard of the square hearts and arrows cut before. I just did a quick google search and this is a very nice cut as well. I am not too concerned about going any larger in a diamond size for I do not want the ring to be too overpowering on her small hand.

1)Do you know where I could begin my search for a square hearts and arrows diamond?

2) Do you know if a hearts and arrows square diamond cut can be mounted on a princess cut ring setting?

Goodoldgold.com sells square hearts and arrows and you can search for them online, you might also want to check out the "regent" cut because it''s also another square stone with awesome light performance.

These stones may or may not be able to go into a princess mounting because princess custs have pointy corners while the other stones have rounded or cliped corners. You''d have to ask a jeweler to make sure. However, goodoldgold has a ton of beautiful settings that would fit a square hearts and arrows or regent or they could make you anything you want.

Wow..i did a little searching and the square hearts and diamonds just takes my breath away...

Do you believe the square h&a will have a greater sparkle than "a cut above" princess cut?

hello

I was reading your thread and thought I should send you this link: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/square-cuts.37130/. This will give you some pointers to the different square cuts that are available. And, you''ve probably already checked out goodoldgold for some ideas too, have you looked at the video tutorials that are available on the site?

You mentioned that you didn''t want the stone to be too big, what I would recommend, is that you do your search and find the ideal stone for you and then worry about the carat size, you don''t want to overlook an amazing stone because it may be bigger than you think she wants.

I personally love square and rectangular diamonds on my hand, for some reason they just sit better and I love princess cuts but will always lean to other cuts, and if it were me, i''d go for the square H&A, cos you get the sparkle of a round but the square of a princess and it is more unique.

happy hunting!
