Ok so I''ve been reading up here in the forums and I think I stumbled onto a decent EC that is in my price range.

It seems to have a good size mm measurement for the carat count. Is there something that I should be cautious about here?

What JulieN is saying is that BlueNile is essentially a drop shipper. They do not provide pictures of the stone, run any reports, or do any light performance tests on the diamond. You are buying it sight unseen, although you do have a generous 30 day return timeframe. ECs need to be seen to determine how well they sparkle.

You will need:
1. Magnified pictures of the stone to see the step pattern
2. ASET picture to check the light performance
3. Idealscope picture to check for light leakage
4. Sarin report for crown height

All of which BN does not provide. Even if you purchase the stone with the intention of returning it if you don''t like it, here are some things to consider:
1. Shipping & return costs & hassle until you find the right stone
2. How do YOU know it''s the right one because your eyes are inexperienced?
3. Can you find a truly independent appraiser (not from a jewellery store) to advise you on the diamond?

I would be more concerned that this diamond is an SI2, not likely to be eyeclean in an EC. Often a higher clarity is needed as step cuts can show inclusions more readily. But when searching for diamonds if you see one you love then that is the main thing, often it is difficult to be able to compare many in person or to have the inclinationt to do so, go by what you think is beautiful. I especially would be very careful about buying a diamond from a vendor who doesn't actually have the diamond to advise you with this shape and clarity.
