Light flashes when upside down and H&A in setting

Two questions please

In my recent H&A diamond purchase I noticed that when diamond is upside down I can see flashes of colured light coming from the edges of the diamond. Am I correct in thinking that an ideal cut should not accept light from the bottom, and if I am where are is this light coming from?

Also will the arrows still be visible once a H&A diamond is put into a ring setting, and would this give peace of mind to prevent switching?

Arrows can be seen from table up (set stone) not hearts.

All diamonds allow light to go from the front to the back and vice a versa.
The best cut diamonds direct the largest amount of light from above, back above.
H&A's is an indication of perfect symmetry - but not neccessarily the best proportions.
