Say you could stay for free in any hotel that is part of www.slh.com for 5 nights, and you wanted to go before the end of the year, where would you stay?

Probably Hotel de Estrela in Lisbon, Portugal or the Palacio Estoril in the nearby town of Estoril. The weather would be beautiful this time of year and I spent a while there as a teen (in Estoril specifically) - I've really been missing everything Portuguese lately (especially the cream tarts! :lickout: ). There are so many other places I want to go in Europe right now, but going back to Portugal is probably the top of my list. Plus, who wouldn't want to stay in a converted palace?

Elrohwen; those are both on the list, as well as the hotel in Duoro where one of our favourite wines hails from. Spain's on the list, but I'm not sure when the weather goes cold in the southern part of the country (think Seville, Malaga, Cadiz area).

I'm also looking at South America and North Africa. Morocco is high on the list.

well, depends on where I'd been before - maybe to a continent that I'd not been to before... but not too long of a flight or time change, 5 days isn't that long... maybe south america? Belize? Brazil?

I'm going to try and work another 3-5 days into the schedule, but 5 days have to be in one place. We just went to France (Paris and Cote d'Azur)in May, and were thinking of going back to Positano for our 5th anniversary next year. I lived in England for a while, and have done so we'd like to go somewhere else.

Ever been to Morocco, Cehra?

This is a tough choice because there are SO MANY places I'd like to see and all of the hotels that I looked at on the site sound great.

I've always wanted to go to Portugal, and the Blue and Green Vilalara Thalassa Resort looks amazing. So do a few others though.

I've also wanted to go to so many places in the Caribbean, but it was hard to narrow it down.

Okay, so I'm not help but it's a fun project to work on.

Don't sweat it, just send me the voucher :naughty: .

This thread is giving me serious wanderlust. I'm going to have to come back when I'm not so desperate to go ANYWHERE so I can actually identify one or two specific places.

Singapore!! :appl:

No doubt, Rome!

I agree with IndyLady! (Good God I'm homesick right now...)

Other than that, Morocco.

No, didn't make it to morocco. We thought we were going to have more time in Ireland and planned another long driving trip through spain/portugal and taking a boat across to morocco - didn't happen.

I'm in the same boat in a way - I need to go somewhere for 7 days by the end of the year... right now India is at the top of the list but there are places I want to see more. Like Egypt and Moscow (but not in winter). it's spring in the southern hemisphere - I think in your shoes I'd still go to south america - very little jet lag. It's too far from here though.
