That is just the loveliest marigold color... perfect for fall!
Would you take it as a compliment or insult if I said I wanted to eat that opal? It's so pretty, it looks edible.

My new ‘blurple’ sapphire from Finewater Gems just arrived today (Gary was amazing to work with!), so I thought I would take a picture of some of my unset coloured gems (plus a jadeite ring, as I don't have an unset green stone and I believe we're up to green).
^green jadeite, Burmese blue spinel, ‘blurple’ sapphire, reddish pink Jedi spinel, vivid red spinel, orangy-red Malaya garnet

What a line up, my friend!! Mr. blurple is fantastic!! Really, he's just the perfect sapphire shade. We need to get you a yellow gem now.![]()

What about the tiny purple sapphires in my rainbow eternity?
I purchased it secondhand, but according to the listing from Faberge their default size is:
You might be able to see that there are a few sapphires in the ombre that I feel like I desperately want to switch with each other, but not enough to risk actually having someone do it. So I will just have to live with my maybe slightly off ombre!

I like that you went with round prongs here. I was thinking how all we see are claws these days, which I love, but the rounded will always be classic. And they clearly go better with "antique" inspired designs.
The funny thing is I always ask for claw prongs and somehow I almost always end up with round prongs. This was no exception. I'm pretty sure the jeweller straight up disregarded my request because he thought "she doesn't know what she's talking about, I'm gonna make this look gooood"... and he did. Can't deny that the way the prongs hold the stone, while still secure, leaves so much of the face up unobscured that the oval line is entirely undisturbed at eye level.
