Just needed a bling fix and pulled up www.artofplatinum.com and it has a whole new look. What do you think?

New since when? It looks the same to me but I've only been looking at for a few months I guess.

it is different. Seems a few weeks ago he mentioned he was tweaking it.
just glad to see my ring is still on his site, tee hee.

I have no problem with the new site (I had no problem with the old site either, hehe). My one comment remains the same. It would be very helpful to include basic pricing or a general range. It would save people contacting Leon for an item that they can't or aren't prepared to afford. If the item is in their general prince range, THEN they could contact Leon. Most of the vendors I've seen provide some kind of pricing...

I totally agree with yennyfire.

Cachette :))

I really liked that you could put in the size stone you had and see rings in the same carat range. Of course all the rings I loved
we larger than what I own. When I picked out my setting, the stone in Leon's was a brown oval diamond of about 6 cts, I think.
Needless to say, the setting looked much different with my 2+ round stone. It would be nice if you could see his settings with
different sizes and cuts virtually. Most of us are choosing by seeing a picture of something that is unlike what we own.

Also, he now has a diamond listing with prices. I think that is most helpful to see.

I agree, Yenny, a price guide would be awesome. I don't know why he doesn't do that. It seems it would be easier for him. But
the price of metals has fluctuated quite a bit and maybe he doesn't want to commit to a price when costs seem to be going up.
He is a relatively smart operation and does a lot of custom work that is very detailed. His star system is an indication, but you
have to know what the stars represent. I didn't notice if that was still in place.

Basically as far as prices go. Think of a normal, rational price for the item... and then triple it. That will probably get you close. But you will still probably be at least 1k too low in your estimate. Just from personal experience. I mean, you're paying for a name, plus excellent craftsmanship, and with that comes $$$$$$.

My experience with Leon's prices was not the same as yours Redfairy. I was interested in a tacori initially. Leon's ring was much less
than many Tacori's that I liked and the total carat weight was more than double for the melee. I felt that it was a very good
value for the money. I suppose that depends on many factors, including whether or not you are asking for a design he has already
done. I understand the price for his solitaires are right in line with other vendors, and less than quite a few.

i saw the site when it was still in beta, i agree with luv about prices, you'd be surprised at how reasonable and affordable his prices are! well at least according to my experience :)

Have you guys read his "employment" page.... I laughed out loud! I love this guys sense of humor!

I haven't read it recently to know if he has changed it, but when I read it previously, I cracked up and had to have my
family read it! I love his sense of humor!

I've been researching potential wedding bands and it is so surprising. I could get cheaper, non hand made eternity bands. But many are not by that much. And then pleanty of places have them listed for 14k or 18k and when you adjust for platinum it's totally the same price range. And then like Luv2 said, the Tacoris and MichealB's and such are waaaay more expensive. I was really surprised.

Much improved. Now we can see pages with the different types of pave. It makes a lot more sense.

He has openings for a benchman and apprentice listed on his policy page. Anyone in the mood to learn Russian?

Is it me or does the site look different? I'm browsing now.
